what part of LA??

Which part of Los Angeles are you thinking about? It's a huge area of land... Los Angeles County, or the actual city of Los Angeles? If you want to get away from rain, then come on down! Unfortunately, it's been so dry in California that the state government has been considering imposing restrictions on water usage like they did in the 80s... I think. correct me if i'm wrong... =)

rain rain

we would gladly take your rain if we could. =)

I don't know much about Santa Monica...since I've only been there twice. It has 3rd street promenade and is right near the ocean--that's good enough for me! I'm not too sure how santa monica fares as a living situation though. I'm about an hour east of santa monica in the suburbs.. =D I think in general, that whole area is pretty lively. Hope you don't mind being stuck in traffic for long periods of time! =)

Try Manchester

Traffic!!!!!!!! You should try manchester or worse London! I gave up I take the train or a bike far quicker!!! :) I would love to live near the ocean, i'm currently surrounding by hills and grass and more hills!!! It beats living in a housing estate but i love the ocean!

ahhhh i see

Los Angeles doesn't really have an adequate public transportation system. It's almost impossible because of how much land there is here and how awful the infrastructure is to begin with.

Housing near the ocean gets really expensive, and Santa Monica is really crowded too. I think the beaches along the Los Angeles area coastline aren't exactly in great shape. But it's really nice in the mornings. Nice and quiet. If you want nicer beaches in california, I would head further south, closer to San Diego. I'm thinking La Jolla area, but that's also a really expensive area... if you go all the way up to northern california, the water is much colder.

All this is making me miss home =(

I think in the future I want to be surrounded by hills, grass, ocean, and rivers. Hahhaha!
