the first picture I noticed the ring was taken during the world championship in italy in 2001. Lotte used to have a page on the net where she answered questions, and one question at that time was if it was true she had gotten engaged recently...of course she didn´t answer the question :-)

well according to viborgs hompage camilla thorsen has a boyfriend named peter..i found only "rumours" on the net according katja nyberg..so who knows :-)
but tonje larson who plays for the same club as katja also seems to be gay. so I guess there are much more lesbians in handball we just don´t know about yet :-)

did anyone watch the match between hypo and viborg? i noticed something i thought was really interesting (beside the match itself). rikke skov was just pissed off at everyone! i've never seen her act like this, she was screaming at everyone, including lotte kiaerskou, camilla thorsen (right after camilla made a goal), the coaches... and the fight after the match ended?! if you haven't seen it, the match ended with the result 29-28 and viborg still had a chance to tie with a 9m shot. lotte kiaerskou took the shot, but it was blocked and hypo won. the viborg players were all dissapointed, lotte kiaerskou and katrine fruelund were disscusing something (probably that shot) and rikke skov came up to lotte and screamed something at her. then katrine fruelund yelled at rikke and pushed her away. the sound was very bad, but it sounded as if katrine fruelund said 'hau ab', although she probably didn't say that, cause i doubt it that she would say something in german, but maybe there's a similar expression in danish :roll: yeah, i didn't think so. anyway, lotte didn't react at all, she was just dissapointed... now my crazy imagination is working and i've just been wondering that maybe rikke was screaming at lotte for some other reason...

well I actually was in Vienna to see the match and I was probably the only Austrian there who was rooting for Viborg :roll:

before the match, during warm up I tried of course to pay attention to rikke and lotte and rikke seemed to be in a very good mood back then, she talked a couple of times with lotte and both of them were smiling, at one point she clapped lottes bottom which looked a little bit macho :-)

the first time I noticed her yelling arround was when rotis almost hit bager nørgaard in the face during a 7 meter in the first half....after that she was screaming at everybody and lotte had to calm her down once.

during the second half viborgs defence really seemed to be out of place a couple of times resulting in more screaming from rikke, especially to chao zhai.

fruelund was obviously mad because they lost the game, so i guess she needed to vent and since lotte was the one who missed the shot, she took it out on her (imo there was no reason to yell at her, she already felt bad enough and these shots are almost impossible to score). but from my point of view it looked more like she was just dissapointed they lost, then actually mad at lotte. but rikke was really just pissed off and to me it looked like she screamed at lotte. i taped the match (yes, i'm bit of a freak when it comes to handball :roll: ) so i'll check again, although i doubt i'll see much more, cause as you mentioned, the camera turned away when it got really interesting...

yeah, i know what you mean, women's handball is never on tv here either, only the mens :( i have no idea if the matches can be found on the web, i watch handball on satellite tv. it's not much, but it's better than nothing :wink:

well there used to be a norwegian site about lesbians in tv which is unfortunatelly no longer online. There was an article from the year 2002 which mentioned Gro lived together with Benedikte Torkehagen who works for the same club Gro used to play at that time. It was also mentioned it was quite known in lesbian and handball circles that Gro is gay. So I guess this sounds pretty reliable to me...I don´t know if she is still together with benedikte..so good look to you :wink:

I also wonder about valerie nicolas (french goalkeeper in viborg), she really sets my gaydar off.

In Denmark they hardly show anything but handball!
Iam not 100% sure about the current situation about Lotte Kierskou and Rikke Skov, the reason a wrote that they where not together anymore, is that this fall Rikke moved home to her sister, whom I have known forever(I used to live in Viborg).
The Danish tabloidpress dont relly work outside Copenhagen.. And Viborg where they both live and play club-handball is not close. So there is not a lot about them in the mags, and they dont relly talk about being together to anyone either..
They are both sweet girls, Lotte is a bit more reserved.
Rikke and her sister are a couple off partygirls.

I just recently read an interview with Lotte from December 04 where she mentioned she will probably stay in Viborg after her career ends, because her "kæreste" (which is danish for girl/boyfriend) lives in Viborg. So either she talks about somebody new or I am completely confused now 8O. And during the European Championships Rikke talked about a "cook-club" she has together with Grit Jurack, Katrine Fruelund and Lotte. But would you still be in a cook-club together with your ex-girlfriend after you just broke up? And they also still wear the rings, if they mean anything. ok I guess now I sound a little bit too obsessed :oops:

There was so much going on on the field after this happened that I don´t remember any specific reaction from Rikke..but chao zhai looked really really embarrassed.

And I am going to watch the match against Nordstrand only on TV as I live not in Vienna and I can´t drive there every week :-)

Vibor was so robbed in that match. :evil: They should have been given a penalty at the end, in that final attack. But I don't doubt that they'll beat Hypo at home with more than one goal difference.

They live together in Viborg and have be together since 2001. The article also said it has been common knowledge that they are engaged since before the European Championships.

oh digital satellite sure is a good thing, unfortunately, most of the programmes are coded. and there are also those which are coded only during some shows or during sports matches :irked: and the fact that you can't watch any scandinavian programmes on thor in this part of europe is just ... well, not fair :tears:

did anyone watch the match between slagelse and kometal? i just saw some pics from that match, what happened to anja andersen?! she was lying on the floor, she covered her face with her hands and they carried her out from the court. this happened during the first half of the game, she was back for the second half. *interesting note* mette melgaard was right next to her on one of the pics, cheking how she was. sure, this doesn't have to mean anything, but you never know... especially with anja...

Well she has some kind of heartfailure (it forced her out of the sport) and her heart beat a dobbeltbeat or something like that. Now she has this device inoperated that shocks her heart to beat if it dobbeltbeats..

So to make it short her heart acted up...

oh yeah, i know about that... i totally missed the connection with this incident. :doh: i read she took a two week vacation, so i hope it helps and she gets back full power. it's such a shame when your health doesn't play along...

Mette Melgaard and Anja Andersen were "outed" a few years ago as a couple - there was a debate in a newspaper (Ektra Bladet) of some sorts about the fact that Anja was Mette's boss and if that was appropriate for their working relationship.

I wanted to add something to sunflowers post about this new relationship. Gro was in a talkshow this evening on NRK (Main TV channel here in Norway) and she didn't really want to talk about this when she was asked about it. But Robbie Williams was also a guest at the show, and he kept asking all the other guests about stuff, including if they had boy/girlfriends. And she confirmed it then, and said that they had been together about 2 months. And she looked very happy, btw. 8)

well yes she was pregnant last year and has given birth early in January to a girl named Karoline. According to danish newspapers she is now married (or what they call in Denmark "registreret partnerskab") to Rikke Skov. So another lesbian baby :-)

I just can seem to think of any more lesbians in handball other than the already mentioned but I'd bet my life that Tanase (from Romania) and Knezovic (from Croatia) are together and they are playing in the same team, Buducnost. They would make such a cute couple. :wink:

I seem to recall having read on a handball board that Nadine Krause of Germany and one of her team mates are together, the girlfriend's name esapes me but she used to play in the national team too I think.

And yeah, there must be some gay players in Eastern / Cetral Europe Europe as well, though I guess none of them are open about it.
