Towards the end of the last season (that showed in the U.S.), I decided I wasn't going to watch this anymore. But then I started hearing rumors that Palex was getting back together, and I started wondering about the other characters, so I watched the one episode I missed during my brief time not watching the show and then started watching the new season. The past three episodes have all had some Palex content, albeit nothing too exciting. It's nice to see they're sticking with the plotline, though, since one of the main reasons I stopped watching the show was that it seemed like they never followed through with plotlines, or took forever to flesh them out. It's really impossible to see where things are going with those girls, but I'm a little skeptical about Paige. She just seems to lean a little too much on the hetero end of the spectrum. They make a really cute couple, though, and Alex is by far the hottest girl on the show.

also it is said that season 7 will be deanna's last season on the show.
Yeah, I saw that too. It looks like they're doing a little more than just playing house. I really hope they don't break up already. It seems like every time they get together, they kind of disappear into the background until it's time for them to break up. It would be nice if we got to see some of their "actually being together in a relationship" time. I guess that's just not how Degrassi rolls.
I agree, I hope we finally get to see some nice couple moments between them this season, especially, since last season was all angst. With all the trouble they spent putting them back together last season it sure would be a blow to have them break up this season, and an ever lower blow to have them break up in the second episode.
Did anyone else notice that Alex isn't featured in the new Degrassi open? I heard rumors that she's leaving the show. Goodbye Palex.
I will miss Alex a lot. I will not, however, miss Palex. Paige is the straightest queer character on television and I'll be happy when they stop trying to make her play gay.
One post I read on the-n.com said something to the effect of, 'I hate Palex. Maybe Paige will finally get back with Spinner.' And while this comment was clearly directed at distaste for the gay content on the show, I thought, "Well, she has a point, Palex IS pretty lame." They've had some good (extremely chaste) times, but I am convinced their "relationship" will never be satisfying.
Who will replace Alex? Will there be another lesbian character on the show?? Anyone know anything?
Things are all stirred up at Degrassi. Lakehurst students have the show introducing all these new characters - some of which made it into the opening credits.
AND Marco's new love interest is so not hot. I don't even buy that he is Canadian hot.

I'm not a huge fan of Queer!Paige but I kinda love Paige regardless, so I deal. I've heard that they were originally going to go Alex/Ellie, which would've been... totally different, and weird when you consider their exes.
I really wish Alex would stay, because I love her like mad, but I can understand if the actress thinks she can go "beyond" degrassi or wants to do school (I don't know which it is.)
I'm pretty sure that actress (Deanna Casaluce) moved to LA to pursue a movie/American TV career. I'm happy for her and I think she'll do well, but I'm gonna miss Alex on the show (actually, I'll probably just stop watching the show). I'm really not as much a Palex fan as I am an Alex fan, particularly with Alex being gay. I could take Paige or leave her. I never heard about the potential Alex/Ellie thing, but I think it would have been way hotter than Paige/Alex. I think they probably went with Paige so that they could have that whole "opposites attract" thing going. If they do break up Alex and Paige this early, I hope that they hook Alex up with someone else, and I don't mean someone she just suddenly shows up with and then breaks up with just as quickly (i.e. like Carla).
OMG!!! I don't know about anyone else but so far I've been very disappointed with the new season. The first episode, Dillon and Marco break-up, then Paige and Alex, and now Ashley and Jimmy. Oh and Manny and that guy go out for an hour or so and than breakup. AND if you see the previews you know that Ellie and that stupid editor finally breakup. C'mon now is anyone staying together! All we have is Darcy and Peter. Anyhow it's getting on my nerves and I just had to share! :) Ugh I'm gonna miss Alex!

ok i've just gotten into degrassi again and have been catching up on all the episodes, and watched all the palex moments online and ok
1) Alex is freakin hot as the FUCK. Alex and Paige totally work for me because alex is hot and paige is a bitch.
2) alex and ellie would not be hot at all. i expect ellie to be all experimental and shit. no thanks.
3) it seems like paige is pulling alex back and forth. i don't like that. alex...too hot for that. i'm just sayin.
