I don't know how it is now, but she was married to some guy for three years. And she dated some other guy for a year after that. I think that was either 1999 or 2000. This doesn't exclude the possibility that she's gay of course, but just greatly reduces it. She might be bisexual too.
Jodie Foster did the voice of a tattoo on a guy, who was played by Gillian's future boyfriend, in an early 1997 episode of THE X-FILES. Jodie's face never appeared on screen. I think the guest-starring role might have come about because Jodie's and Gillian's friend, Randy Stone, was the casting director for the show.

Anyways, I'm half-Russian and grew up surrounded by both Russian and American accents, and I change fluidly between the two without a thought depending on where I am or sometimes who I'm talking to. I find it can come on relatively suddenly, but takes longer to leave if that makes sense, lol. It's a very interesting concept on a psychological level.

As for her dalliances, I sincerely believe she's primarily straight, but I also sincerly believe that she tested the waters with Jodie Foster. X-Files fans will know around what season that occured.
Edited to add that now that I think about it, it must have been really good because rarely do successful movie stars do television. It happens alot now with the whole Will and Grace stunt casting, but at the time the only really famous people I can remember doing guest spots on television was Julia Roberts for Matthew Perry and Benjamin Bratt. She was sleeping with them both at time she guested on their shows.

You're very right palm. I actually liked that episode because it's was the first time I can remember Scully getting any, even if the guy was kind of lame.
What's funny about the whole Jodie and Gillian rumor is that ,at the time, Jodie had been dating Cyndi for a couple of years. I didn't believe it at first because Jodie didn't seem like the kind to cheat, but then those two just kept popping up together. When I heard her voice on that X-Files episode, that clinched it for me. But really, if I had to chose between Gillian (straight and hot) or Cyndi (Gay and eh) I'd picked Gillian for as long as she'd have me. I'm shallow.
