Heterophobia

I have been sitting on this for a while (as well I looked and did not find a post about this)....    In the last little while I have found that the more I meet gay men and women and the more I watch gay celebrities I feel as though there is almsot a heterophobia in the gay community...  Rosie O'Donnell, for example, made a comment about straight women stabbing her in the back because she was around them too long, and that she needed to be surrounded by "her own" again (not quoting word for word but the jiff of what I read her say)...   I very much understand that there is a lot of homophobia in this World and that it is still not easy being out, but why show the same ignorance and hatred that homophobic people show gays and lesbians???  Not all straight people are bad, but its almost like they are treated as though they are...  What if it was a straight celebrity saying what Rosie had said but  that they needed to be around straight people because the gays will stab them in the back???  I think there would be an uproar in the community, and rightfully so....  For a community that deals with so much hate and intolerance, why would they want to keep the hate going and taking it out on people who have not done anything to deserve the hatred???
