Helen & Nikki on L Word? Opinions please! How do you feel about Simone Lahbib and Madanna Jones on the L Word for a season as lovers? I think it would be awesome and quite interesting! At least then someone on the show will finally have an honest relationship! LOL! To have these two Lovely ladies on the show. It would definetly give the L Word ladies a spin! hmm
They should send bodybag over for a vacation--she frequents the planet, and goes to bingo the whole time she's in LA.
I like Nikki and Helen too much to send them to the L Word
I can't stand the thought of Nikki and Helen showing up on the L Word. In my fantasies they have a happy healthy relationship, and bringing them out to LA would immediately trigger Helen's latent alcoholism and Nikki's abusive jealousy. You simply cannot be a normal couple on the L Word unless it's a brief cameo. However if Simone and Mandana were brought on as completely different characters I wouldn't argue with that. I think Simone is currently on a successful show over in the UK, but I hear Mandana is free and seems open to playing another lesbian character.

I know exactly what you mean. H+N's relationship is on a completely different level than anything that has ever been shown on the L word. BG doesn't really mix well with the L word. BG is more raw and "realistic-looking" while the L word is much too glossy. Helen and Nikki are waaaaay to fabulous for it. I too wouldn't mind however, if SL and MJ were on as two completely different characters. Well actually I might mind if they end up playing really warped characters.
How about just a 2 hour special re: H + N and all of our favourite BG characters?? lol
No L word necessary.
Helen & Nikki on L Word
Would Be Rather...
Amusing, I have to admit. I adore Nikki, moreso than Helen, I always have. The whole tough-yet-not-exterior makes me melt everytime!
Having said that, we've already got one whining Brit on The L Word, do we really need another?
Oh, and don't go getting all offended, Brits, I'm Part Brit and damned proud of it!
I suppose if they could create some reason for them being there, a decent on, and have a story line that DID NOT involve Helen and Nikki spliting, that would be fantastic. Yet, knowing Ilene's history of pathetic story lines (and the writer's too. What I would give to just write an episode!) Helen would probably come to America, Nikki would follow her. Helen would find herself enthralled by Tina, would sleep with Tina, Nikki wuold be all macho-butch about it and tell her that she understood, it was fine, they can see other people.
Then, Nikki would go and find someone who wasn't childish and hook up with them. It would be a nasty cycle of back and forth and really, the only difference would be that at the end of the night, Nikki wouldn't get locked up in a cell.
Hmmm. Time for more Caffine...
Helen and Nikki in LA
I would love to see more of a foreign-exchange scenario.
Relocate Helen and Nikki to LA, yes, but then lets dump the whole cast of TLW in Larkhall.
Everybody wins!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Nikki & Helen on the L Word?
Really?
Do y'all really think that Nikki and Helen's relationship is that strong? I have to doubt that it lasts that long once they're in the real world together. Like Helen says at one point, "Anger, jealousy and violence are not generally things that attract me to a person." (paraphrased). I can't really see Nikki as being that different on the outside.
I hate to admit that I remember this (and hate even more to be quoting it like fact), but in the movie Speed, when Keanu is laying on top of Sandra Bullock, (wait, let me puke), there's an exchange that goes like this:
[after surviving the bus explosion]
Annie: You're not going to get mushy on me, are you?
Jack: Maybe. I might.
Annie: I hope not, 'cause you know, relationships that start under intense circumstances, they never last.
Jack: Oh yeah?
Annie: Yeah, I've done extensive study on this.
and if being in prison isn't intense, I'm not sure what is.
Of course, later on there's an exchange that goes this way, (and I can imagine N & H this way. lol):
[last lines]
Jack: I have to warn you, I've heard relationships based on intense experiences never work.
Annie: OK. We'll have to base it on sex then.
Jack: Whatever you say, ma'am.
Lisa
Except that
they're both very different people by the end. I had the same doubts as you about them lasting, but now I think that they stuck together even though they would have had a rocky relationship; Helen's got just as much of a temper as Nikki.
Although it doesn't come across on screen, the original character studies had Helen as mid-twenties, and Nikki as early-thirties. They're both meant to grow as a result of meeting each other, which I think they eventually do!
"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." Bette Midler.
I think Nikki and Helen
I think Nikki and Helen should remain in our imagination. So much more interesting than anything the TLW writers could come up with. That unrequited love that’s gained through impossible odds, savored, lost, cherished and consummated, lost again and then found again. And hopefully blossomed. (Although I doubt it.) All with great acting and horrible clothes. Not TLW style.
BTW, jrjones, is that avatar you, or a brilliant disguise? (Little Bruce Springsteen quote) Now I’m humming that song, dang it. Seriously…huh?
I Wish! If They Were On The L Word I Would Die!
That would possibly be the best thing that could happen! Nikki was always saying how she wanted to move to San Fransisco so L.A isn't that much of a leap of the imagination! I would pay to put them in The L Word! I so badly wanna see them again! Plus they are both so fit now!
