Kate Winslet as Helen.  (oh, my!) She's got the lips, and accent.  And  of course "gorgeous".
and .....Michelle Rodrigues as Nikki.  She's got that anger thing work'n and some intense eyes. 

Simone, and Mandana did such a great job and had wonderful chemistry together--they're definitely a hard act to follow.

I'll say: Nina Landey as Nikki, and Diane Lane, or Portia DeRossi as Helen.

i like the idea of helen being played by saffron burrows and nikki being played by jill hennesy...or they could switch..i could see them in either roll however i do think that saffron looks more like helen but jill definately has that butch thing going...

 i just wish i could see erin kelly (loving annabelle) in either role because shes a great actress plus ive never seen an actress actually cry on camera in behind the scenes stuff saying how grateful she was to finally get to make the movie...someone so happy to be at these lesbian events meeting people and talking about how wonderful the experience was...and someone so willing in new in her profession (as far as getting hired for jobs) to do not one...not two..but 3 things in a row with a theme geared towards our community...youve got to respect that even if you dont like the movies/shorts shes in...

As for Nikki, if you're going to cast a brunette for Helen, you need a blond or redhead for Nikki. Gotta get that whole dark and light thing going. Sooo, how about:

Katherine Heigl? Ali Larter? Louise Lombard?

Few of the actresses mentioned so far really seem appropriate for the parts of Helen and Nikki, keeping in mind that the character of Helen Stewart is meant to be relatively youthful (thirtyish).

Much as it pains me to say, people like Mariska Hargitay or Jodie Foster are just too old to play the role of Helen. Some of the other actresses don't have the acting chops.

It would ruin the characters if they were portrayed by a couple of hotties who can't act their way out of a paper bag.

All is very true, alot of the actresses mentioned are tied to other movies or tv shows. I'm still gunning for Alex Hedison for Nikki. She is honestly the only unattatched actress that would make a good go at Nikki Wade. Even though from everything I've read about her says she's not that much into acting on the long term. Hence her short stint on The L Word. An american version of Helen has been where I've been stuck. A lingering question that seems to nag at me lol. Yeah I know I need to get a life. But what can I say I'm a sucker for Lesbian pop culture. So I was watching the candian show Degrassi: New Generation. When on of the teachers stuck out to me. I'm not sure of her name on the show or otherwise but maybe it was just how she filled out her power suit but I felt that I had at least some what fould a contender. Anyone have a pic, or know the actresses name. She's blond, and a teacher on the show. Ehhh if anything its some fruit for thought. Love ya ladies ;-)

At the risk of sounding like a doofus,I haven't heard of any of these actresses, except for Gillian Anderson.

Who are they? What else have they have done? In other words, what do you think qualifies them to take on such challenging roles?

Melissa Dimarco is a canadian actress, that is on the show Degrassi: The Next Generation. The age is about right I havent figured out how to post pics on here. But I would be more then happy to send out any via email just message me.

Jessi, I have seen Honey Brown in Curve magazine. She looks like a million bucks but can she act?

Not to sound overanxious or anything but we BG fans are awfully protective of our Helen and Nikki.

I'm unsure if Hunny has done any acting, I know that I did read something about her showing an interest in it though if I recall correctly. I think what made Mandanna Jones such a good Nikki was that her free spirited nature shined threw Nikki. So when looking for a new Nikki its often the first thing I look for. Alex, and Hunny I think both have this in them. They are powerful, successful in their chosen feilds. They have a good bases of who Nikki Wade is. Nikki was a professional that ended up a "convic" Granted I have only seen Alex Hedison acting and not Hunny Brown. But I suppose I'm going more off gut than anything else and of course look. But of them look very simalar and have the dark hair and eyes that drew most of us to on Nikki Wade. Or maybe I'm just starved for a Nikki and Helen Love'n'.

So I've been super down lately, being dumped is never fun. Anyways to keep myself distracted I've been playing on myspace. And watching my Bad Girls DVD's, isnt that what every girl should do lol Anyways this two things collided last night. I was surfing myspace and came across a profile that was interesting. I found a girl that is a actress/model... Eye roll... But she's totaly beautiful and interesting! On top of that I believe she would make an amazing Nikki. Or at least someone like her, I got to thinking. What if the actresses we're basicaly unknown, or even totaly unknown. A dare I say it fresh face. This way we arent having trouble with hanging ups of roles that may have already done. Seeing someone fresh that you can totaly see as Nikki or Hellen. So anyways I was also thinking one of the major draws well at least for me with nikki and hellen was their amazing accents they both have something different. Nikki with her husky english one, and hellen with her sexy scottish tones. What if the american verison also had this as well. Like Hellen has a Southern Draw, and Nikki a brass New Yorker.
