count me in as a fan!!! though i can never seem to catch the show at the begining...soooo bummed out i missed a make out scene....did she make out w/the british girl w/the red running sneakers???
Starved
Yeah, she made out with the British girl, but I didn't quite understand the switch from making out with her to hooking up with Allison at the gym.

I really like Billie's character and the other supporting characters, but I freaking hate Eric Schaeffer's character. I liked him at first but I can only take him in small doses. His story line takes up 12 minutes of a 20 minute show sans commercials. There's plenty of time to give everyone equal screen time. It's so obvious he wrote this show.
Also, It's so hard for me to believe Sam is pulling the kind of girls he's pulling.

Well it looks like this show ends this week. It's the "season finale" so I am assuming it's not part of f/x's fall lineup. I wrote to f/x to tell them I love the show but my gut tells me this is it.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O :?

Wouldn't it be the "series finale" if they weren't ordering more episodes and bringing it back at some point? I looked and couldn't find a press release for it being canceled.

I agree wit ya ladies, Laura Benanti(Billie) is hot and fine as hell. When I first saw the preview of the show before premierin' I was like "Damn, she is fine as hell, who's that. That part wit her and the British girl was arousing and sexy. British chick meetin' Billie's fam was kind of crazy, her family is a trip. I hope this relationship last and she don't need to hook up wit Sam but just keep it on a friend level. The show is addictive cuz the storylines and plots are interestin' and sometimes funny. Also, it tackles the issue of eatin' disorders which is real in this world affectin' some men and women everyday. I heard some people were affended by this show, I heard bout' it on ET in August I think.

Yes. The show was not picked up for the fall lineup. It was announced several months ago by the network.

[quote:6d7dc97964][b:6d7dc97964]"Starved" Sitcom — with Broadway's Benanti — Canceled[/b:6d7dc97964]
By Andrew Gans

The new FX series "Starved" — co-starring two-time Tony nominee Laura Benanti — has been canceled, Variety reports.
"Starved" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" were two new comedies recently premiered by the FX Network. About the cancellation of "Starved," FX President John Landgraf told the industry paper, "The show had a lot of fans, so it was tough to choose [between it and 'Sunny']. Ultimately, we felt that we're just not in a position to spread our resources. We launched our dramas one at a time, and launching two like we did this summer just didn't work out as well."
Co-starring Sterling K. Brown, Del Pentecost and Eric Schaeffer, "Starved" featured Benanti as one of four friends, all in their thirties, who were dealing with eating disorders. Benanti played Billie, a "bisexual recovering bulimic/anorexic who is an up and-coming singer/songwriter." The other characters included a recovering anorexic, a compulsive overeater and a recovering bulimic.
Described as a "comedic take on America's addiction to food," "Starved" was written and directed by Eric Schaeffer, who co-starred in the series. Schaeffer and Dan Pasternack were executive producers of the comedy.
Laura Benanti most recently portrayed Claudia in the Tony-winning revival of Maury Yeston’s Nine. She received Tony Award nominations for her performances in Swing! and the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. She was also seen in The Sound of Music, Time and Again and the City Center Encores! mounting of Wonderful Town. Benanti’s regional credits include roles in A Little Night Music, Man of La Mancha and A Winter’s Tale. Benanti will return to Broadway this season in The Wedding Singer.

I agree, Laura Benanti (Billie) is [i:28a03d6e84]hot[/i:28a03d6e84]. And [b:28a03d6e84]shebrew[/b:28a03d6e84], to the best of my knowledge she hasn't really been in anything on screen before; she's done a lot of Broadway however--she has an absolutely gorgeous singing voice.
I'm kind of digging this show. I think all the characters are interesting and once you get past the gross-out gags there is some really poignant character development. The only thing I don't like is that it looks like they're going to pair up Billie with asshole Sam. If Billie [i:28a03d6e84]has[/i:28a03d6e84] to be with a man, I'd much rather see her with Adam the Cop.

I'm happy about the way the show ended. Sam rebuffed by Billie after being an ass to his Breathairian girlfriend. Sam alone and binging while Billie's found love and making sweet love to her girlfriend. Hated Sam. Hated him so hard. If the series lasted, Sam and Billie would have gotten together. Thank god it's over. If Lauren Benati plays gay again, I hope it's for a producer/creator that's not a narcisisstic ass like Eric Schaeffer.
Starved
Yea, I'm really liking this show. Billie is a really compelling character, it'll be interesting seeing how things turn out this season. I don't want her to end up with Sam though, I didn't sense an attraction there at ALL. Plus, she was wayyyyyy hot in that (short) makeout scene. well, she's hot period.

This show is so twisted - I Love It! And Billie and the British girl is hot! Apparently she takes her to meet her parents (Remember she has 2 dads). I hope this show lasts....
Starved
This show certainly is controversial and they don't really shy away from subjects, which is kind of admirable. It both angers and frustrates me on a regular basis and yet surprises me in a positive way as well.
Billie is a very interesting character. What I fear, though, is that the underlying thing on this show is that they want to hook up Billie with Sam in the end. I hope not, but there's that possibility especially after the incident with the two after Billie's performance. I hope I'm wrong about this though. It seems that Sam's feelings for Billie are stronger, he's clearly in love with her but I hope they'll just keep the two as friends.
Billie seemed to really like the cancer survivor Amy (Maureen Flannigan) so I really hope those two will have some kind of meaningful relationship. Still, we're talking about recovering addicts here so I'm not going to get too attached to any relationship. Especially since all of the main characters seem to fall "off the wagon" on a regular basis.
Still, I was surprised how addictive (excuse the pun) show was and I find myself really looking forward to new episodes so hopefully it won't get cancelled.
Starved
Just a small correction--the cancer survivor's name is Allison. Amy is Dan's (the heavy-set guy) wife.
I so agree, this show is oddly addicting. I think it's because the characters are interesting and the actors really sell the hell out of even the most cliched plots (like, the "let's pretend we're boyfriends" stuff from the last episode. My only complaint is that too much time is spent on Sam's dumbass antics and that I have trouble believing that all these beautiful women somehow fall for him. He sucks. And I too hope they're not going to go with a Sam/Billie pairing.

No kidding. I believe [i:8ab8b8f886]Billie [/i:8ab8b8f886]hooking up with beautiful women, but c'mon now, Sam? It does frustrate me how little time the other characters get compared to Sam. I think Billie had 3 five second scenes in the last episode. Probably cuz the guy playing Sam is the show's creator. [/u]
