Kanye West has a new album out today, and so do The Killers, but I’m going to suggest that after you give those your attention, you download the Blackheart Records Holiday Album, available on iTunes.

It’s 11 tracks from artists on Joan Jett‘s record label, including the legend herself and Girl in a Coma. Their version of “Silent Night” includes special guest Barack Obama, which you can listen to here and see what I mean.

There’s something about the melancholy rock that the Ravonettes record that just happens to correlate with the feeling of winter, which must be why their Christmas songs work so well. Their four-track EP of original holiday songs includes the previously released “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” which is definitely a song to have on your December playlist.

This double disc set includes a completely live version of all songs from their platinum-selling album Riot as well as a documentary DVD, 40 Days of Riot, chronicling their non-stop touring. The set is a must for any Paramore fan, though it sadly does not include the track they recorded for Twilight.

A hipster hip-hop MC from Chicago, Kid Sister has cameos from Kanye and her brother’s DJ duo, Flosstradamus. If you didn’t see her video for “Pro Nails,” envision a grown-up Lil’ Mama with a little more indie flair.
