Five lesbianish films to see this holiday season

Last December, Black Swan was the big box office draw for gay women. This year, we have five films that will be worthy of your time and money. Glenn Close stars in this gender-bending drama about a woman who lived as a male server and romances Mia Wasikowska. Rooney Mara plays the bisexual hacker Lisbeth Salander in this American remake. Her on-and-off lover Miriam Wu is played by Elodie Yung. The award-winning film about a teen lesbian coming to terms with her sexuality while dealing with the dissolution of her overbearing parents’ marriage is one of the best films about gay women of color ever. Kate Walsh and Elizabeth McGovern are a couple in this sad indie about a town dealing with the aftermath of the death of a child. Bring your Kleenex! While there is no actual lesbian content in this Margaret Thatcher biopic, out filmmaker Phyllida Lloyd directs one of the most highly-anticipated political movies this year. Did I mention it stars Meryl Streep? Which film are you looking to see this month?
