A Rooney Mara fansite has some pics of the actress on set of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. She’s got the short black ‘do and the motorcycle, but doesn’t appear to have any facial piercings that I can tell.
Meanwhile, there’s a great contest going on for the original Millenium Trilogy films in part with RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network). It’s called Ignite Your Future and you can win an internship with the organization in D.C. or with the film distributor Music Box Films in Chicago, as well as an iPod or a FlipCam. Visit RAINN.org or DragonTattooFilm.com to enter. The only stipulation is you must be in your twenties, like Lisbeth. No tattoo required!
The reason RAINN is partnering with the film series is a good one: The series might have a lot of physical and sexual violence, but it’s not in vain. Music Box Films writes the partnership is “an effort to turn these horrors into something that will make a difference and hopefully produce positive change.” They have set up several free screenings of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on college campuses around America, sparking conversations on sexual assault and abuse and hoping to educate young people on how to react if they are ever in a related situation.
Something tells me the American film’s distributors won’t be as active in advocacy, but here’s hoping the Swedes will serve as positive inspiration.
In related news, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest will hit U.S. theaters Oct. 15, which means we aren’t through with Noomi Rapace yet (thank god!) To tide you over, here are some stills from her last time filling Lisbeth’s biker boots.
It may still be premature to judge Rooney in Noomi’s shoes, but seriously — where’s the nose chain?
