Earlier this year, Mia told you about the summer movie Inception, starring our favorite “she’s gotta’ be,” Ellen Page.
Inception is the newest film from Christopher Nolan, who directed Dark Night and Memento, so we expect it to be dark and twisty. But we’re still not sure exactly what’s going on — which is precisely what Nolan wants.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actors received hand-delivered scripts, which they had to read while someone waited outside to retrieve the scripts and make sure no one else read them. And these are A-list actors, including Leo DiCaprio, Michael Caine and Marion Cotillard.
Here’s what we do know: DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a thief whose specialty is “extraction” — stealing secrets from people when they are dreaming. The ability has made Cobb an elite player in corporate espionage, but it has also cost him everything he loves.
Now Cobb has a chance to get back his life if he can manage to accomplish something considered impossible: inception, in which he would not steal an idea, but plant one. He hires Ariadne (Page), an architect, for a reason yet to be revealed.
Here’s the extended trailer:
This featurette introduces us to Inception’s main characters and will give you an idea of the caliber of acting talent in this film.
I’m a sucker for movies like this, with dramatic special effects and weird sci-fi premises. And, especially with the current stock of mediocre adult-targeted movies (I’m looking at you, SATC2), Inception looks like a winner.
Inception will be released July 16 — will you be there?
