Excellent, dynamic, and active

The Alliance of Women Film Journalists is speculating about the futures of their 2006 Excellent Dynamic Activism Award winners. Yes, that’s really what the awards are called.

Some of the highlights for 2007: Judi Dench may show up in the next Harry Potter film; Helen Mirren will co-star with Isabelle Hupert in an adaptation of Susan Sontag’s novel America; and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) will co-star with Catherine Zeta-Jones in No Reservations, “the story of a top chef and the child she suddenly must take on as her ward.” Here’s hoping that last one is better than it sounds.

And Meryl Streep will co-star with Glenn Close, Toni Collette, Claire Danes, Natasha Richardson, and Vanessa Redgrave in Evening, which is also approximately when my head will explode as a result of seeing that many great actresses on the screen at the same time. (Yes, once again I’m really just looking for any excuse to post a picture of Meryl.)
