“Charlie’s Angels” gears up for a third film

Good morning, Lezbos. Rumors of a third Charlie’s Angels movie are picking up speed after Drew Barrymore mentioned to E! Online that she is “so into” it. Barrymore’s rep confirmed, saying that things were “percolating” and “rising to the top.”

First order of Angel business: Find the person who attacked Drew Barrymore’s hair at the Golden Globes and stab him with his teasing comb.

The idea being punted around is that the Charlie’s Angels franchise will add a fourth Angel to star alongside Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu in the third installment.

Rihanna‘s name has been whispered in more than one place, and while I do think she’d fit nicely under the Angels umbrella (ella, ella), I have some other actresses in mind.

Eva Mendes

The only problem with Mendes is that she might actually outshine the other Angels just by being on screen with them. She can bring the funny and the sexy, and she can absolutely kick your ass.

Isla Fisher

Isla Fisher can do camp and adorable. Only thing is, can she run in high-heeled boots? Something tells me she’d need some lessons.

Jada Pinkett-Smith

In Charlie’s Angels 2, Demi Moore taught us two things: She looks better in a bikini than women half her age and real Angels don’t carry guns. Not a problem for Jada Pinkett-Smith, who, after two kids, can still rock a solid-leather crime-fighting suit, and wouldn’t need a gun, because she’d throttle you with one stern look.

Portia de Rossi

Jaclyn Smith says that on the set of the Charlie’s Angels TV series, everyone called Farrah Fawcett‘s hair “The Money.” Don’t you get the feeling they could call de Rossi’s hair the same thing?

Rachel McAdams

McAdams can flip from sweet to sexy like a light switch, and her face is already that cherubic coy that makes you think she’s got a secret identity. A few kickboxing classes and she’d be golden.

Yvonne Strahovski

As Chuck Bartowski’s protector and my TV girlfriend, Strahovski has already proven that she can mix action and humor and sexiness and kissability and general awesomeness into one character without making the TV explode. I’d like to see that test on the big screen.

Zoe Saldana

Saldana had me at Center Stage: “What, did you go to a special bitch academy or something?” She’s played lover, fighter and pirate since then. Angel just seems the next logical step in the progression.

Who would you like to see added to the Charlie’s Angels trio?
