Morning Brew – Brandy Clark wins Song of the Year at the CMAs

Good morning! Today’s #TBT is Lea Delaria with Sara Ramirez in 2005.

A huge congrats to Brandy Clark for winning Song of the Year at the CMAs last night. She won for “Follow Your Arrow,” which she co-wrote with Kacey Musgraves and Shane McAnally. Brandy said of the win:

“When I came off stage, Vince Gill grabbed me and said ‘you just won the biggest award you can ever win. I know, I’ve won them all and this one means the most to me.’ That about sums it up!”

Brandy recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about why she prefers dresses to tuxedos.

I mean, even though I’m sort of a tomboy in my everyday look, when it comes to red carpet I want to look classy and elegant. Tuxedos are both of those things, I just don’t think I’m the woman that could pull it off.
Kim Ann Foxman is launching her own record label. It’s called Firehouse because Kim recently moved into “an old firehouse in Brooklyn.” Sounds awesome.

Arrow star Emily Bett Rickards talked with Collider about losing Sara Lance.

I think Sara’s death goes deeper than how it just affects Olicity, romance wise. I just think it affects them so deeply, in the sense that death is closer to home than we thought, and we already thought it was really close. Every time someone in your life dies, you realize you’re not invincible and you have to wonder if we’re celebrating life or if we’re mourning a death. I think that takes a lot more energy and thought and care than it does to put it towards the energy of their relationship dynamic. They’re working for a common goal, which can also bring people together, as well.

And how difficult it was to act with Sara’s body behind her.

Any time we can get Caity Lotz back on the show, I will strive to be in scenes with her. She is one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever met in my life. If I get to act with her, I’m happy, even if she can’t talk to me.
Arrested Development‘s fourth season will be re-released with added jokes and footage. More Portia please.

Until tomorrow!
