Angelina Jolie looks deliciously evil in “Maleficent”

After what feels like an eternity, the great and powerful Angelina Jolie is finally returning to the big screen. And as a big bad, no less. I know she’s been raising her 18 children and probably making them outfits from curtains and teaching them the musical scales (or how to paralyze a guy without killing him? I don’t know what goes on in the Jolie-Pitt household) but goodness have I missed that perfect face.

Now, of course, fairytale re-imagining can go horribly wrong. I didn’t even bother seeing Snow White and the Huntsman, because everyone I talked to said that it was just an hour and a half of Kristen Stewart running around in a forest. I love a girl in armor as much as the next lady-lover, but I decided to sit that one out and just enjoy the pictures that flitted about the internet. (And, of course, the pictures of Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen… Man, evil queens are always hot, aren’t they?)

Though, to be fair, that was technically a revival of the Grimm’s fairytale version of Snow White. This is a Disney-run production, so it will probably be more along the lines of the 2010 production of Alice in Wonderland, but less Tim Burton-y.

I imagine this will be a live-action version of the story we’re already familiar with. Sadly, I highly doubt that the bewitching bisexual will have any sweet lady kisses in this movie for a number of reasons. 1) It’s a Disney movie. 2) Bad guys (or gals) never get happy endings. 3) Unlike in Alice in Wonderland, where Alice was aged to be 19 years old, Aurora is played by Elle Fanning, who is only 15 in real life. So unless there’s some kind of sultry fairy flying around, there’s not likely to be any love interests for the sorceress. Though at least we can be sure that if she has ANY interaction with a grown up woman, there will be chemistry, because Angelina Jolie has chemistry with inanimate objects.

What does seem interesting is that this movie, as the title suggests, is not about the sleeping beauty Maleficent cursed at birth. Instead, it seems to be taking a deeper look into the life and past of the wicked woman and how she got so evil in the first place. (Or, as Galinda would say, it seems to beg the question: “Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?”)

Check out the official trailer now:

It looks like she will be giving Regina Mills a run for her money when it comes to being the Mistress of All Evil.

But don’t worry, the real Angelina is still adorable as ever. In case you missed it, here’s a video of the leading lady talking about Maleficent, being a Disney character, and scaring children.

I really hope she turns into a dragon at one point in the movie.
