10 actresses who could play Wonder Woman in “Batman vs. Superman”

America Ferrera

America Ferrera is a real-life kick-ass woman. She stumped for Hillary Clinton, lobbied for the DREAM Act, kicked ass on The Good Wife and Ugly Betty, and voiced the awesomely combative Astrid in all the How to Train Your Dragon movies and sequels and serials.

Paula Patton

She proved her dramatic acting abilities in Precious and her action acting abilities in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and she’s as she’s as traffic-stoppingly stunning as Princess Diana of Themyscira herself.

Gina Torres

USA Network Events - 2013

There’s been an enormous Brown Coat fan-push to see Gina Torres in the role of Wonder Woman ever since Firefly ended — and quite rightly! Torres’ Zoë Washburne is one of the most magnificent female heroes to ever land on TV (thanks some more, Whedon!) and since her time on that show (and Serenity, she’s played a kick-ass character on Alias, Standoff, Suits, and on and on. Oh, and she totally voiced Vixen in the Justice League animated series. So there.

Naya Rivera

I’m more serious about Wonder Woman than I could be about Glee in a thousand lifetimes, and I want you to know that I’d never, ever put Naya Rivera on this list just because AfterEllen readers want to have her baby. I think she’d be the perfect blend of aloof sex appeal, snappy one-liners, and screen-rattling ass-kicking that it’s going to take to make Wonder Woman work. She makes it look so easy on Glee, but take a look at Bree these last two seasons and you’ll see what Rivera does isn’t easy; it’s actual magic.

Yvonne Strahovski

I’ve heard a nasty rumor that Dexter made people hate Yvonne Strahovski, which I find completely unacceptable. Return to your Chuck DVDs, you fickle-fandomed lesbians, and remember that Agent Sarah Walker was one of the greatest female action heroes of this golden age of television!

Who do you think should play Wonder Woman if she really does appear in Batman vs. Superman?
