Afternoon Delight: Jennifer Lawrence sizzles in final trailer for “Hunger Games: Catching Fire”

Good afternoon my lovelies!

Happy birthday to Winona Ryder, Gabrielle Union, Joely Fisher, Janet Montgomery, Kate Jackson, Courtney Jackson and Mariah Hanson!

The exclusive final trailer for the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire film has arrived!

And if that’s not enough Jennifer Lawrence for your Tuesday, here’s the new trailer for next year’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past (it opens May 23, 2014).

Amy Ray‘s upcoming solo release is going to be a country record. According to USA TodayGoodnight Tender, out Jan. 28 on Daemon Records, “draws on roots ranging from Hank Williams and George Jones to the Carter Family and the Stanley Brothers, with a little Southern rock and Americana mixed in for good measure.”  Ray told USA Today, “”Country music is such a populist music. Sometimes you just want it to be the story you’re going to tell the guy sitting next to you at the diner who is a member of the NRA and voted a straight-ticket Republican, and you’re this left-wing, queer, aging dyke, and you have this thing in common. I love that! That’s where I live.” Color me intrigued! Here’s a promo trailer for the new record:

Tegan and Sara‘s song “Shudder To Think” will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming film Dallas Buyers Club and the musical duo talked to MTV Act about the importance of the film and the current state of affairs for LGBTQ people.

MTV Act: The film takes place in the mid-80’s. Matthew McConaughey plays Ron Woodroof, a hetero man diagnosed with HIV, at time when our society assumed it was a disease for LGBTQ people. Jared Leto plays a transgender woman, Rayon, at a time when people weren’t open and out as transgender. We’ve come a long way in the last 30 years. However, how do you think we can improve, when it comes to the LGBTQ community how do you think we can improve, when it comes to the LGBTQ community?

SARA QUIN: There is tremendous momentum for the LGBTQ community and of that I am very proud and excited. I think the transgender community needs our voices and ally support more than ever. I am constantly disappointed at the lack of education and support for legislation protecting our friends in that community. We are decades behind in our fight for their rights.
