The AfterEllen.com Fall Movie Preview

Fall is traditionally the time when the movies turn away from the big booms and unveil their prestige pieces. The smell of Oscar bait wafts through the air and everyone puts their best foot forward. We take a look at some of the films of greatest interest to lesbian and gay women coming to a theater near you.

Machete

Plot Points: Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and a lot of machetes slash and bash their way to vengeance.
Gay Points: Lilo, MRod and Alba make it easy on the eyes, even if one of those eyes has a patch.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Plot Points: Alice is back with that girl from Heroes and that guy from Prison Break to get medieval on the zombie legions, again.
Gay Points: Milla Jovovich double fists it, though sadly I don’t mean with Ali Larter.

Easy A

Plot Points: A high schooler fakes losing her virginity only to have it turn into a modern-day Scarlet Letter.
Gay Points: Emma Stone reminds us of Lindsay Lohan with none of the troubling overtones.

Never Let Me Go

Plot Points: Welcome to a dystopian world where humans are cloned as living organ donors.
Gay Points: Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan might not kiss, as teased, but they are on screen together so that’s something.
