Naya Rivera is hosting the GLAAD Awards in San Francisco on May 14. Pretty good get, right? She’s the hottest ticket in town right now, especially with Lebanese people lesbians, so this is definitely a win!
Heather Peace added some celebrity to the Brighton Equality Walk over the weekend. She walked her very nice to look at butt 10k and helped the group of 504 participants raise £50,000 for the LGBT non-profit Stonewall. Good work, Peace!
Lisa Cholodenko is taking a vastly different turn from her previous work. Her next project is an adaptation of the children’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I don’t remember there being any lesbians in this book, but it sure has been a while since I’ve read it.
AE reader Rogue tipped us off to a new Spanish lesbian couple on the comedy La que se avecina. Apparently Araceli (Isabel Ordaz) returned to reconnect her son (after leaving him to pursue her dream of acting) and came back with a new girlfriend, Reyes, (Maria Casal). The Awl thinks gays aren’t funny. The writer says this is because gays have to compete with women in general for the minority spots on TV or on writing staffs. What’s that, you say? That doesn’t prove gay and lesbian people aren’t funny? You are right! Because I laugh all the time at lesbians, including (but not limited to) Fortune Feimster, Bridget McManus, Wanda Sykes, Erin Foley — I could go on. And on. But you don’t need me to because you know that article is bulls–t. And not funny.
Jessica Capshaw was on The Talk ever so briefly yesterday and she told the hosts that people don’t think she’s a lesbian IRL. This was really hard for Holly Robinson-Peete to work out in her head. They also talked about tomorrow’s Calzona wedding.
I wonder if The Talk producers made Sara Gilbert go off-stage for the interview because they thought Jessica was a real lesbian and two on camera at one time would blow America’s minds.
