Morning Brew – Wednesday, June 8: Beverly McClellan does Melissa Etheridge on “The Voice,” “Out in America” on PBS tonight

Hi! Happy Hump Day! I’ll be out tomorrow and Friday but Heather Hogan will be filling in as Brewmaster.

Beverly MCClellan killed on The Voice last night with her rendition of (what else?) “I’m the Only One” by Melissa Etheridge.

If you’re just now watching, you can still vote for her to be saved! I did. My second favorite moment on last night’s episode: Christina Aguilera telling Dia Frampton she wants to curl up and cuddle with her.

Remember when I told you about Chloe Sevigny’s new role as a transgender hitwoman? Deadline has a few more details. It’ll be called HIt or Miss and be six episodes, with American distribution looking likely. Here’s what else they said:

Mia (Sevigny) [is] a contract killer with a big secret – she is a transgender hit man who suddenly finds out that in the previous life has fathered several children.

It’s from Paul Abbott, the man behind Shameless, so I expect as much humor as I do drama. And probably nudity.

This is a great slideshow: Bollywood’s Lesbian Lovemaking. It exists — and on film sometimes!

Alice Walker is the only out woman to make Forbes‘ list of the 10 Most Powerful Women Authors. Still, glad to see her on there. I’m sure Oprah is, too!

Tonight you should watch Out in America, a PBS documentary on, well, us!

Tonight in Lesbianish TV: *The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Talk (CBS 2 p.m.), Anita Lo on Iron Chef America (Food Network 7 p.m.), Out in America (PBS) and The Rachel Maddow Show (MSNBC 9 p.m.) (Thanks Roni!)

*Denotes a rerun

Until next week!
