Leighton Meester is starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the upcoming musical film Country Strong. She recently raved about her co-star to InStyle, which People decided meant Leighton had a “slight crush” on Gwyn. Leighton said:
She’s gorgeous without any makeup on and she comes to set at 5 a.m. looking really hot which is really great. She’s super down-to-earth and makes dirty jokes. She’s just a cool chick.
Sigh. I’m pretty sure that just means Leighton admires and respects Gwyneth — not that she wants to make out with her. Better luck next time!
Out singer Catie Curtis has teamed up with GayWeddings.com to officiate some, well, gay weddings. The singer said in a press release:
Much of my inspiration for lyrics and music is rooted in the expression of love. I am thankful to participate and help gay and lesbian couples celebrate on their memorable wedding day.
Catie will also perform a song at your wedding, so now’s the time to get aquatinted with her if you’re planning to get hitched.
Brittana fans, I have some bad news. It looks like Brittany could be paired up with Mike in the near future. Actor Harry Shum Jr. told E!:
Everyone’s rooting for Brittany. Mike and Brittany…I think it’s great. They make great dance partners and you haven’t really seen them, their relationship outside of that.
He obviously does not consult AfterEllen.com. He would know that “everyone” is very, very incorrect.
The Out Music Awards have been postponed this year because of financial hardship. It looks like we’ll have to wait until spring to see if Chely Wright wins Artist of the Year.
Sara Rue‘s lesbian character, Brenda, will return to Rules of Engagement in January. Therefore, you are relieved of watching the show until the new year.
Blue Valentine is a new film starring Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, and it apparently has a very realistic sex scene that has earned them an NC-17 rating. PopEater asks why Black Swan got away with an R rating for the lesbian sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, but Blue Valentine was deemed more risque. They point out that the ratings board is “no longer so fearful of lesbianism.” Progress? I’m still going to see Blue Valentine.
True Blood is back to filming for the new season, and I couldn’t be more excited. Anna Paquin recently told a reporter that she sometimes struggles with her natural Kiwi accent.
It still comes up now and again. It’s especially bad after I’ve been on the phone to my mum or my sister. But I have been away from home for such a long time on the whole I don’t tend to have that accent. It’s still there though – bubbling underneath.
I think she does a fabulous job ditchin git for the Bayou-style talkin’ she does so well as Sookie.
