Morning Brew – Wed. Oct. 17: Kalinda’s sex drive explained, Seimone Augustus doesn’t get why you hate her gay wedding

Good morning!

the xx released their new video for “Chained” and damn, this song is good.

If you frequent reddit’s lesbian forums, I’d suggest you keep in mind that not all of the other posters are actual lesbians. Creeps.

Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin is going to guest on Pretty Little Liars as herself. She’ll have coffee at The Brew with Emily. Like a date? Probably not.

Rosie O’Donnell is so into her wife. It’s cute! She recently told Access Hollywood:

Well here’s the thing, upstairs I had flat boots on, and I felt like the lesbian Tom Cruise because I was like down here, and this was like the tall, beautiful Nicole Kidman, and little me. She’s quite beautiful, and it’s quite shocking. And I always thought I’d get over it — it’s been like over a year that we’ve been together — and I still am constantly stunned by her beauty.

My wife, too, feels like the lesbian Tom Cruise. Not because of my “beauty” — it’s because I like to wear heels and we’re the same height standing flat. Too bad wifey!

Although I haven’t loved what The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King have done with Kalinda this season, I do still have a little bit of trust in them. They talked with Vulture about Kalinda’s sex drive:

…for Kalinda, sex is rarely about love and almost never romantic. It’s a tool she’s used to help crack cases, manipulate the enemy, and most recently, let her ex know she won’t be taken advantage of again. “We’ve been playing Kalinda as someone who has changed her tastes over the past few years. [Her husband] doesn’t know who she is now,” Robert says. “She is able to sexually one-up him, and it’s a surprise to him.” But, he also concedes, “The dirty joke is never too far away from what we do.”

I’m really just over her husband entirely. Let’s get him out of there already.

If you’re in LA tonight, check out Alicia Hardesty’s Original Tomboy pop-up shop in West Hollywood.

Listen, guys. I feel strongly you should vote for Faberry in our slash competition. I love our brother site, AfterElton, and all, but I just really think Rachel and Quinn deserve this win. I also feel like they should be standing closer on this Archie comic cover.

Tegan and Sara told MTV Hive that a fight broke out during one of their tourdates with The Black Keys:

There was a fight during “Call It Off” one night! Which, we were like, “Really?” It was like a serious bro-down fight during the most mellow part of the set. I was like, “You’re not interrupting our Staples Center moment. Are you really?” It ended up working to our advantage, though, because it was really funny.

WNBA baller Seimone Augustus is so rad. She’s speaking out for marriage equality in Minnesota where she plays for the Lynx.

I just never understood why someone else’s love life and who they love and who they choose to be with affects so many other people’s lives. Is it a scare of, “Gay people are going to be running around and everyone’s going to turn gay?” I never understood the whole point of opposing or hating someone else’s happiness.

She wants to marry her partner, LaTaya, at the Walker Arts Center, which would be so awesome and beautiful that I really hope they invite me. I promise I’m a good time and I won’t steal any of the art.

And speaking of lesbian weddings, The New York Times has a great piece on Michelle Hyde and Carlene Jadusingh, who are getting hitched in New York this Sunday. Congrats to the happy couple!

Out author Patricia Cornwell discussed her new Kay Scarpetta novel, The Bone Bed, on CBS This Morning today.

Jane Velez-Mitchell was caught dancing on the set of Anderson Live. Hilarious!
