Morning Brew – Wed. June 19: Portia and Ellen sell another home, Jane Lynch judges on “MasterChef” tonight

Good morning!

Both Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King will be among the first inductees into the Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame. As they should be!

The Village Voice thinks lesbians don’t date online. Tell that to all the women I know on OkCupid.

Tomboy was nice enough to release this behind-the-scenes video of their Spring/Summer campaign starring Harmony Boucher.

The Rumpus talked with partners Wendy MacNaughton and Caroline Paul about collaborating on Lost Cat.

Katee Sackhoff may not be playing gay in Riddick, but she’s playing straight pretending to be gay, so that counts for something, right? She tells Collider of her character, Dahl:

Well, the fun little tidbit of Dahl is that she just pretends that she’s a lesbian so [the men she’s around] don’t do anything. I think that Matt Nable and I had a moment where we decided that there was maybe something between them at some point but that he’s decided to just shut it down for the greater good, meaning his task at hand. And she’s his Number 2 so he wants to keep her safe. Knowing that you’re going into a world of men, I think it’s kind of something, and she’s kind of tougher than all of them. She really is. I think I have three fight scenes with Jordi [Molla].

Out magazine has some pics from Kim Stolz’s wedding, which happened over the weekend. Tyra Banks did not appear to be invited.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of Sally Ride’s space mission. She may be gone, but she is still celebrated.

Lucy Hallowell is so good at keeping me up with the latest Fosters clips. Here’s one from next Monday’s episode.

If you like David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive like I do, then you should go to this Parisian bar that is modeled after the lesbianish film. It’s called Club Silencio. Meet me there!

Why isn’t Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway as celebrated as James Joyce’s Ulysses? I’ll tell you why, Slate. The patriarchy! Also, the Dalloway in New York has nothing to do with Ms. Woolf so that doesn’t count.

Check out Amber Heard in the trailer for her new film Paranoia.

Pretty Little Liars has cast Kamar de los Reyes “as Dominic, a respected swimming coach who is famous for having sent athletes to the Olympics.” Sounds like he’ll be having a run-in with Emily and/or Paige.

J Crew’s Jenna Lyons is a tastemaker, which is why the company’s Tumblr has created a regular feature called “Jenna’s Picks.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are selling yet another one of their homes. This one is a penthouse in Beverly Hills for $899,000. They bought it for $835,000 three years ago. I feel like their living there would increase the value even more, but they probably only stayed there, like, one time.

Speaking of Portia, she answers some fun questions in this video with some of her Arrested Development castmates.

And in what is clearly a slow news day for The National Enquirer, the tabloid says Portia has decided to go from “ice queen to nice queen” on the set of The Ellen DeGeneres Show so that she can “make a comeback.” WTF?

Christine Quinn’s memoir came out last week. It’s called With Patience and Fortitude and touches on her “overcoming bulimia, alcoholism, and Kardashian-related wedding mishaps.” (Christine and Kim Kardashian almost wore the same dress down the aisle. The horror!)

Tonight on MasterChef, the contestants cook for the cast of Glee and Jane Lynch judges their dishes.
