Morning Brew – Tuesday, Sept. 13: Leah Renee says Amber Heard saved her from dowdy undies, Rutina Wesley on “True Blood” finale

Morning!

I’m so into this Mirah music video with Tender Forever! It’s for their song “Low Self Control,” which was already my jam of the summer. Sexy! French!

Leah Renee plays the lesbian bunny onThe Playboy Club and Time Out Chicago asked if she ever leaned on Amber Heard for advice.

The character was originally written quite differently. When I first read the script, she was written, I would say, as sort of a cliché. She wasn’t the cutest bunny. There was a scene where she didn’t have the cutest underwear and was kind of dowdy, and Amber was the one to say to the writers and the producers, “I don’t think that’s how the spectrum should be portrayed; I think it would be great if you cast a very beautiful woman and have her be beautiful,” and that to me made it a lot more fun, too, because there’s definitely two sides to Alice. In the club she’s very sweet and even more girly than everyone. When she’s home with her husband she speaks a little deeper and she’s a lot stronger.

Thanks Amber! If Alice was in dowdy underwear, I would have to rage.

Why is Sam Ronson always so mad? I think she’s flipped me off about 70 times now.

Out actress Sarah Paulson looked super lovely in lilac at the TIFF premiere of Martha Marcy May Marlene. She’s pictured with co-star Elizabeth Olsen on the red carpet.

TRUE BLOOD SPOILER ALERT. MOVE ON IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE FINALE. Good news, guys! Rutina Wesley says she has signed on for Season Five of True Blood, which means Tara can’t be dead. Rutina told EW:

It’s out there that Alan has already said that he has big plans for Tara. But things change. I don’t know exactly what they have in store for me and how long that will be. It’s tricky. And if I did know, I’m just not going to say. [Laughs] But again – half the head is missing. The cool part is people are talking. And that’s the question is: Is she dead or is she not? Because people can survive head wounds. But we have people on the show that can make things happen – you know what I mean? I don’t know what’s going to happen the first episode of next season. I’m just as excited and curious as you are. I hope it’s good. I hope I stick around for a while. That would be nice. [Laughs]

Maybe Naomi can return and nurse her back to health.

NewNowNext was at Fashion Week and they caught some celebs on camera, including Ian Harding, who dished on Pretty Little Liars.

Something about Big Brother in Africa makes the women in the house feel lesbionic. Maybe it’s the cameras.
