Morning Brew – Tues. May 8: Naya Rivera in “Cosmo for Latinas,” Margie Cummins wins “Biggest Loser” in Australia

Good morning!

If you or someone you know lives in North Carolina, please vote No on Amendment One today, which would define marriage as between a man and a woman and ban any kind of domestic partnerships or civil unions between anyone else. Here’s a song to remind you. Try to get it in your head and go to the polls.

Naya Rivera has purchased a new home in Los Angeles and TMZ has the pics

Speaking of Ms. Naya, she’s in Cosmo for Latinas this month, and she was asked if she felt it was risky to play a lesbian on Glee:

I honestly don’t think it was that much of a risk, just because it’s so prevalent nowadays. It’s something that a lot of people can relate to. It’s an important story to tell, and I’m thrilled to do it.

She also said she’s stopping after six tattoos because she’ll have nowhere else to hide them. See if you can spot any in the whole spread. (On another note, I had no idea there was a Cosmo for Latinas. Do they have a Cosmo for Lesbians? I guess it is this month!)

On an upcoming episode of Emmerdale, Sean (Luke Roskell) is going to try and put the moves on his mom’s partner, Ruby (Alicya Eyo). It doesn’t appear to go well for Sean. His mom should probably explain that whole “lesbian” thing to him again.

Ali Adler‘s new series with Ryan Murphy, The New Normal, has been picked up for series by NBC. I hope this means they will all be at TCA this summer so I can get some scoop from Ali!

F’in, A man — literally! Here’s a new promo for Pretty Little Liars Season 3, beginning June 5, and it looks like the girls still can’t catch a break.

Pretty sure Amber Heard was the only gay woman in attendance at the Met Ball last night, or at least that I could find. She donned Zac Posen and told reporters she was glad to be wearing a designer she loved.

Congratulations to Margie Cummins, the out lesbian who won Australia’s Biggest Loser! She told The Courier-Mail she’s also dating someone now, too.

We’re just seeing how things go. She has the same values as me and we get on like a house on fire. She doesn’t hold it against me that I was on a fatty show — she’s very supportive.

I’m sure she doesn’t mind that prize money either!
