Morning Brew – Tues. May 14: Tig Notaro loves the Indigo Girls, former WNBA player Tully Bevilaqua gets married to her partner

Good morning! Happy second wedding anniversary to my wonderful wife Julie!

I’m so so thrilled that Minnesota has become the 12th state to legalize marriage equality. I’ve had many a gay time in that state.

Apparently Christopher Guest’s new HBO series Family Tree has a lesbian character “Mildred Budgens (Barbara Bolton), the ancient friend of Tom’s deceased aunt, who is straight out of The Well of Loneliness and dressed like Quentin Crisp, minus the hat.” The show airs Sunday nights, and now I might just have to tune in.

If you’re in California, show your support for out lesbian politician (and former child actress) Sheila Kuehl.

Jane Lynch attended the NBC Upfronts this week. Will you be watching her host Hollywood Game Show this summer?

We are sad to see that one of our readers, Amy, has passed in a tragic plane crash. We’ll miss you around here, Amy!

How gay is Tig Notaro? This gay:

One of my favorite songs is “Ghost” by Indigo Girls. Emily Saliers wrote that and she is one of the most talented songwriters ever. I’m continuously blown away by her. She writes these beautiful love songs but seems like she’s inspired by anything. I’d love to use an example of “Oh, here’s a song by Emily that’s not a love song,” but this one’s my favorite and it happens to be a perfect one.

The comedian also said she’s been thinking of making a playlist for a girl. I hope she puts on some Taylor Dane.

Former WNBA player Tully Bevilaqua married her sweetie on May 4 in Indianapolis. They have two kids together and own a gym called Gym41. Congrats!

Slate.com attempted to answer one lesbian mom’s question of how two moms handle one Mother’s Day. I know one couple who uses Father’s Day for their own second holiday.

Alyson Hannigan talked about playing Willow on Buffy with HuffPost Live. I love how Joss Whedon told her “You’re going to have a friend; a special friend, and she’s just your friend.” That’s how I would always like lesbianism to be described.

Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Portia de Rossi talked about accidentally drugging her mom.
