Morning Brew – Tues. March 13: Lady Gaga sits down with Oprah, Naya Rivera will host the GLAAD Awards again

Good morning, Brewbies! The internet is buzzing today with news about Oprah‘s upcoming sit-down with Lady Gaga. The interview, which will air March 18th, will be shot in Gaga’s New York apartment, where she reportedly keeps her time machine. Seriously, though, Oprah’s website is billing it like this:

Oprah travels to New York for an exclusive look inside the apartment Lady Gaga grew up in and still calls home. For the first time ever, Gaga’s mother, Cynthia, breaks her silence on what it’s like to be the mom of the world’s most famous pop star.

“Mother.” Ha! Like Lady Gaga didn’t spring forth, fully formed, from the queer loins of the planet Galifrey, a nebula-hopping Time Lord with the voice of an angel and two hearts of gold.

Mia Jones alerted me to a fascinating 1966 Australian documentary called 7 Days: Love Is Love. It’s a pretty groundbreaking half-hour feature that gives us a glimpse inside the social standing of lesbians who weren’t quite as lucky as Peggy Olson’s gay ol’ bestie on Mad Men. Some of the women talk about carrying on secret relationships with women after receiving electroshock treatment to “cure” their lesbianism and marrying men. Others are loud and proud, even though they’re ostracized. You can check out the whole thing below.

Guess who’s hosting the GLAAD Awards again this year? Naya Rivera. Remember last year how she chatted up our own Dorothy Snarker on the red carpet and gave us lots of scoop and then auctioned off a kiss to a lucky lady during the ceremony and then Dorothy Snarker melted into an actual puddle of swoon? Yeah, that totally happened. Maybe it’ll happen again this year!

Oh, Cory Monteith is co-hosting. Or something. I didn’t really pay attention to that part of the announcement.

Are you as hyped up for The Hunger Games movie as much as Bridget McManus and I are? (Doubtful, seeing as how we’re both already camped out at the cinema waiting for it to start.) Well, the world premiere was last night and the odds are ever in Jennifer Lawrence‘s favor

That dress looks like it was designed by Cinna! (It’s not. It’s apparently from The Fall 2012 Prabal Gurung Collection.)

Today in lesbian-ish TV: The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Tabatha Takes Over marathon (Bravo 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), The Parkers “Since I Lost My Baby” (BET 12:30 p.m.), The Talk (CBS 2 p.m.) (rerun), The Rosie Show (OWN 7 p.m.), Black Swan (5 MAX 7:10 p.m.), The Rachel Maddow Show (MSNBC 9 p.m., midnight, 4 a.m.), Nurse Jackie “Rat Falls” (Showtime2 9 p.m.), Fashion Star “Pilot” (NBC 9:30 p.m.), Tabatha Takes Over “Barkingham Palace: West Hollywood, CA” (Bravo 10 p.m.), The Kids Are All Right (WMAX 10 p.m.) [Thanks, Roni!]
