Morning Brew – Thursday, Sept. 1: Juno Temple talks kissing Riley Keough, a clip from “Love Crime”

Hello September!

I’ll be out tomorrow as I’m heading back to Chicago to watch my Gal Pal Emily Hartl get hitched. Heather Hogan will be holding down the Brew for you.

Have you always wanted to star in a lesbian web series? If you live anywhere near Ohio, you should definitely check this out. It’s called The Emotional Wrecks Society and creator Taliesin Govannon promises no lesbians will get pregnant and/or die!

Cat Cora posted on Facebook and Twitter that her father passed away. If you’re a fan, leave her a comment to let her know you’re thinking of her!

Comedian/actress Jackie Monahan was interviewed for the OUTTAKE VOICES podcast. She tells the host about being out in her career:

I do whatever I can for civil rights. I’m an out comic. I was told immediately by industry not to be out. That I would make so much more money (not being out), that I’m cutting my salary in less than half of what I could be making. No one knows I’m a lesbian by looking at me and my comedy does not have to be out but I made a conscious decision to be out, to be true to myself and to everyone that I love. I love being a lesbian and I’m very proud of it.

High five!

Check out this clip from Love Crime, which is on my list of must-see films this year.

Girl in a suit alert! Kate Bosworth is looking pretty dapper in this month’s Blackbook magazine.

Anyone else ship her and Michelle Rodriguez in Blue Crush?

I LOLed at this trailer for “Guilty Pleasures” (from the book Record Collecting for Girls), which discusses “I Kissed a Girl.”

Lacey Schwimmer is standing by her man! Chaz Bono’s Dancing With the Stars partner says she’s ignoring haters and that she’s psyched on this season.

I was absolutely thrilled. I’ve always been a huge supporter of the LGBT community and I couldn’t be more excited to have Chaz. Not only is he Sonny & Cher’s child but he’s also a generally cool person. … This is my sixth season — the producers know that I’m very open-minded and really accepting of everyone. Ever since Lance [Bass] was on the show, it opened the door for the LGBT community to be accepted in Middle America and it’s about time. It’s 2011, let’s evolve a little bit here.

Thanks Lacey Schwimmer! Maybe I will watch your show now.

Wanda Sykes discussed her curly hair over at Curly Nikki. It’s as informational as it is funny!

Juno Temple is on the cover of Dazed and Confused this month and she talked about kissing Riley Keoguh in Jack & Diane.

I had a lot of fun making out with her. It’s not that I am specifically going out of my way to choose those roles. But if one comes along and I feel good about it? F–k yeah, I’m gonna do it!

Kyle Fa has two gay dads and a lesbian mom. He should win some kind of award or something!

OMG – Lucy Lawless is wild. This is what she does on set at Spartacus when she’s not filming.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena DVD has this special feature and more, and will be available Sept. 13.
