On her show yesterday, Oprah joked about the lesbian rumors that surround her relationship with BFF Gayle King. When cameras followed them on a camping trip, they went to go to bed in the same camper. Gayle said, “Let’s just add to that lesbian rumor!” In true Oprah fashion, she shouted out “Lesbian rumorrrrrrs!“
They’re so good natured about those rumors. And we know Oprah loves her lesbians!
The 1980s BBC series Tenko followed a female prisoner of war during the second World War, and it was based on a real life POW named Margot Turner. In a new biography about Turner, writer Penny Starns talks about her disdain for the show and how it made Turner out to be a lesbian. She told The Daily Express:
To make assump tions about Margot’s sexual orientation, or that of any other military woman, was potentially distressing and grossly insensitive. Undoubtedly this storyline intrigued the viewers at home but in many respects it could have been viewed as an outright betrayal.
Speaking of people who aren’t really lesbians, Sam Feirs stars on the new reality show The Only Way Essex and says it’s definitely not scripted. She told The Sun:
It’s not as if I would kiss another girl if they just asked me to, unless they thought I was turning into a lesbian or something.
So if they decide she’s going gay, then she’ll kiss another woman in front of the camera. Got it — it’s not scripted, it’s just suggested.
A new film called Killing Toni sounds kind of horrific, but it supposed to be a comedy. The premise: “A guy gathers his friends together to murder his ex-girlfriend once he finds out she’s a lesbian.”
Seriously. Director and star Jim “Uke” Doiron told the Portland Press-Herald:
The movie has nothing to do with hating gays. The main character is so hurt by (the breakup). Everyone has said, ‘I wanna kill my ex.’ Unfortunately, his cousin is a nutjob and decides to start planning to actually do it, and when Jack finds out (she’s gay), he gets really upset.
Here is a clip with some NSFW language.
Verdict: Not funny.

In an interview with DazedDigital, JD Samson answers some fun questions like where she got her name. She explains:
Sadie Benning (ex-Le Tigre) named me Jeffrey Dahmer back in 1999. She thought my glasses looked like his and that was the whole reason she and everyone else began to call me Jeffrey. Then Le Tigre put out an EP and I was in the photo and everyone was like what name do you want to use and i guess we all decided on JD. That was it. Forever.
WIld! Also, she wears sport socks in the summer.
