Bitch Magazine ran a blog this week about the music of The L Word, from their theme song to the performances at the Planet. She uses this to prove her theory that lesbians listen to more than folk rock. Is she right or is she right? Then again, The L Word did have Shawn Colvin play their Olivia Cruise episode.
I Rock premiered in Australia last night, and I am so pissed I can’t watch it. It’s about bands trying to hit it big — lesbian and bisexual members included. If you’re an Aussie, you can watch it online. Here’s couple Cara and Comet:
Waterloo Road is getting crazy, ya’ll. Spoiler ahead! Student Ros kisses her lesbian French teacher Jo, declaring her love for her — despite having a boyfriend, natch. When the dean finds out, she fires Jo, in a sad turn of events.
Don’t worry, Sarah Jane Potts. You’ll maintain your Sugar Rush lesbian fanbase even if you leave Waterloo Road.
One of the most interesting things about Chely Wright‘s coming out is the responses it’s generating from those in the country community. Today, country singer John Rich responds to Chely’s citing him as a reason she stayed closeted and almost killed himself. Chely says that John told her “Good, thank God!” when she told him she wasn’t gay, which sent her into a “downward spiral.” John’s response:
I would never pass judgment on any friend of mine. I feel awful that, at this time in Chely’s life, my decade-old comment — ‘Good, thank God’ — was taken the wrong way. I was clumsily trying to express my relief that even a country boy like me had a one-in-a-million chance of having a beer with a woman as talented and attractive as Chely.
I love that he’s trying to discredit his statement by calling it “decade-old.” I still remember a friend of mine telling me “Your face is pretty, but you’re fat” from a decade ago, John, so nice try. Secondly, that isn’t what you meant, but again, nice try.
The Sun is reporting that “a source” (love those) told them that Fergie jokes about sleeping with UK pop singer Cheryl Cole.
Says the source:
Fergie has been telling everyone she’s more likely to sleep with Cheryl before will does. Everyone has been teasing him about his crush. But when Fergie came out with this, everyone fell about laughing. She’s mentioned it a few times now. And even Cheryl thinks it’s hilarious.
Dear source, this just means Fergie thinks her Black Eyed Peas bandmate will i. am has a chance in Hell with Cheryl, not that she wants to do it with her, which she probably does. At any rate, I’m thinking neither will happen anytime soon if Cheryl finds it hilarious.
