Morning, Brewbies! Trish Bendix is getting hitched this weekend, so she’s left me in charge of the morning lezzorama. Unfortunately, I think she took all the queer news with her. It is a sllloooow pop culture morning. Well, except for Lady Gaga news, which exists in its own dimension. Lady Gaga is always happening on every plane of the space-time continuum.
This morning, that intrepid bastion of journalism, The Daily Mirror, is reporting that Quentin Tarantino is going to stalk down Gaga at the Cannes Film Festival and pitch her a role in his next film. “A source” told “the paper”: “It’s no secret Quentin’s been eyeing up Gaga for a role in one of his up-and-coming films. And now they’re both in Cannes, he’s keen to show off his movie star credentials.”
The equally reputable Access Showbiz says that Gaga wants to guest star on Glee: “I would love to. We should just work it out. I know that they’re doing some more music on the show soon – and they just did the amazing “Born This Way” episode. So I would love to.”
Kurt Hummel would lose his mind. How about an actual piece of reliable news about Lady Gaga? She really is at the Cannes Film Festival. Here she is, performing “Judas” at Martinez Beach Pier.
Speaking of Glee, the only other thing that exists in a perpetual breaking news cycle, New Directions will be performing a new original song on the season finale. It’s called “Light Up The World.” It’s heavy on the Santana. And you can listen to it here.

Now that Glee is finishing up its second season as The Most Popular Show In The History Of The World, NBC has decided to piggyback off of it. Entertainment Weekly says:
NBC … ordered Steven Spielberg’s musical drama Smash. It stars Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, Jack Davenport and Anjelica Huston, and follows a cross-section of characters who come together to put on a Broadway musical.
You do that, NBC. I’mma just be over here learning German so I can rewatch Jenny and Emma on Hand aufs Herz over and over and over again.
The Daytime Emmy Awards nominations were announced yesterday morning, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show pulled down 12 noms, including Outstanding Talkshow. But for some bizarre reason, Ellen wasn’t nominated for Outstanding Talkshow Host. I mean, Rachel Ray and Regis & Kelly, but no Ellen? Come on!
You know how we’ve been flipping out about Wonder Woman’s tacky costume in the David E. Kelly reboot? Apparently, it’s a moot point. NBC isn’t even picking up the show.
