Morning Brew: Thursday, August 12: “The Talk” to air in October, Portia de Rossi could join “The Office”

Entertainment Weekly has a little tidbit for Calzona fans. Michael Ausiello writes, “The baby drama is over, but that doesn’t mean the stork will pay them a visit this fall. Explains Shonda Rhimes: ‘Will there be a baby right away? No. Will Callie’s turnaround [about having children] stick? Yes.'”

Eventually, gay marriage will become legal so we have less lesbian-couples-go-right-to-the-babymaking storylines. Then we’ll have more “will they or won’t they?” romance drama and – hopefully – more sex. Like this:

The new season of Grey’s kicks off Sep. 23.

Sara Gilbert‘s new morning show, The Talk, will debut on CBS Monday, Oct. 18.

It will air weekdays at 2:00 ET, so it won’t directly compete with The View. Interesting choice! I’m sure they did a ton of research to make sure that’s the time most lesbians will be home to tune in.

In order to own the gayest home ever, Rachel Maddow has purchased out R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe‘s former apartment in NYC. Gawker provided us with a peek inside. I also kind of love that they call it Rachel’s “new liberal lesbian lair.”

Rumor has it Portia de Rossi (soon to be Portia DeGeneres) is in talks to replace Steve Carrell on The Office. An inside source on the show says “an Arrested Development veteran” is being “shown the ropes” at the NBC series, and The New York Post thinks it’s Portia.

Maybe they were big fans of Better off Ted, or they love her as much as we do.

Speaking of adorable lesbian couples, there’s one in this new animated music video for The Weepies‘ “Be My Thrill.”
