Morning Brew – Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson get sexy for “GQ”

Good morning!

My friend June Thomas at Slate answers the age-old question: Why do lesbians love flannel?

Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson shared their close friendship with GQ this month. The other PLLs are part of it, too, but these photos are the most relevant to my interests.

Isn’t it awesome when lesbian couples make music together? Check out Neka & Kahlo if you agree.

Sarah Paulson will be playing playing her “most challenging character yet” on American Horror Story: Freak Show. Ryan Murphy says it includes a lot of physicality. Perhaps she’s a contortionist!

Out Olympian Nicola Adams is featured in Marie Claire UK where she says this about herself:

“[One] label that has been attached to me is “bisexual”, although I would rather be just a person and not be categorised. … I have never tried to hide my sexuality, but I have never spoken about it before in the press, either, because I didn’t want it to overshadow everything else. It is an important aspect of who I am, but it doesn’t define me. I worried about how everyone would react, so I used to say I was single, rather than say I was with a girl. I felt like I was lying all the time. I didn’t like living like that so, in the end, I thought, ‘Well, this is who I am. It’s not as if I can stop it.’

Speaking o’ sports, Megan Rapinoe is still recovering from a left foot injury that has kept her out of games. Boo.

Out writer Annalee Newitz talks about her new book, Scatter, Adapt and Remember: How Humans Will Survive a Mass Extinction, with The Rumpus. Lesbians will know how to survive in any disaster because we’ve been living off the land for years. Communes will be had!

Michelle Rodriguez asks what’s wrong with being bi. Presented without further comment.

EastEnders fans, want some spoilers on Tina and Tosh? Looks like they are going to try and get pregs because, of course they are.

Pretty Little Liars HBIC Marlene King will be adapting another book for the screen. Marlene is taking on horror novel The Merciless by Danielle Vega and making it into a feature film.

Out producer Liz Brixius will be working on a new show called Bad Judge on NBC.

Ellen Page joined her X-Men: Days of Future Past co-star Patrick Stewart to chat about the film, which opens May 23.
