Morning Brew – Out model Tasha Tilberg covers “Glow”

Good morning!

I was so looking forward to seeing Anna Torv play gay again, but it looks like it won’t be happening any time soon, at least not on HBO. Ryan Murphy’s Open will not be moving forward with the premium cable network, as an HBO spokesman says the show was “not the right next step for all involved.” Sigh.

Shippers of Christina and Meredith will enjoy this Grey’s video dedicated to their “love story.”

Out model Tasha Tilberg is on the cover of Glow Magazine in Canada this month, and inside she talks about making sure she looked different in the industry.

“I didn’t want to be ‘that pretty model, blah blah blah.’ I wanted to be ‘that tattooed tough chick,'” she says. What began as one wrist tattoo at 15 is now a collection of 20 or so. The ones that have her saying, “What was I thinking?” are generally those she gave herself, either stick-and-poke or with her very own tattoo machine, which, she admits, “I’m not super great at.”

And that’s why we love you, Tasha.

Dazed has an interview with out filmmaker Drew Tobia on her film See You Next Tuesday. Here she is on queer cinema:

I definitely feel there’s a queer sensibility to the film— not necessarily in the forefront, but more in the execution of the humor, which can be dry and sarcastic, like an obnoxious gay man — a.k.a. me! Honestly, I was a bit surprised when none of the gay festivals we submitted the movie to wanted to show it. The thing is, there are two lesbian characters in the movie, but they’re not exactly the protagonists, and they’re not always portrayed in a positive light — they’re not in a very stable relationship. But because they’re lesbians, some people took their volitile [sic] relationship as a comment on lesbian relationships in general. But it has nothing to do with being gay or not — most relationships are unstable!

Mary Lambert talks about her new album has joined the cast of Hannibal for Season 3. Yay! Now let’s see her interacting with Margot.
