Morning Brew – Monday, July 25: Rutina Wesley on Tara’s newfound love for ladies, Lily Tomlin joins “NCIS”
Congrats to all of you who got hitched in NY over the weekend! I’m so happy to be able to say it’s a reality now. We’ll have a full post on that for you later today.
We got to see a glimpse of Tara’s GF Naomi on True Blood last night, but it appears we’ll be seeing more of her very soon. Unfortunately, she looks to be in peril.
I’m pretty sure that was Pam on top of her. Pam, you don’t need another lesbian vampire, do you?
Speaking of, Rutina Wesley talked about Tara’s new love while at Comic-Con. She told TVLine Tara is definitely not just going through a phase. Rutina explains further, and thinks Tara is most likely bisexual. (Watch the video at the link!)
Joss Whedon wants to see Buffy go to Broadway. When he stops getting so busy with other projects, let’s hope this becomes a reality. We need another lesbian musical number. We’ve worn Rent‘s “Take Me or Leave Me” out. Give us something with a Willow and a Tara, in the key of C, please.

Sometimes I still get excited about the fact that I can buy anything I want at the grocery store, and no one can stop me. In truth, though, I stop myself. I am like a very unfun, controlling parent, almost as bad as my own. My reward for finishing my movie was supposed to be a box of Wheat Chex. I still haven’t made good on that-every time I go to get the Wheat Chex I end up reading the list of ingredients and being horrified by the high fructose corn syrup. I end up buying lesbian Kashi, or a bag of barley.

Lily Tomlin has been cast as McGee’s grandmother, Penelope, on NCIS. (Grandmother!? Is she really old enough? I feel like 9 to 5 came out yesterday.) The new season begins Sept. 20.
