Morning Brew – Monday, Feb. 21: Denmark’s “X-Factor” has an out 15-year-old contestant, Amber Heard on “Top Gear”

Good morning everyone!

Amber Heard is doing some major press to promote her new film Drive Angry. In an interview with a German paper, she told them Charlize Theron in Monster was a huge inspiration.

Because she uses her beauty [but has] the courage to [use] ugliness and depth. That’s my goal. I want to play roles like that!

Thanks to kittko for the tip!

In a bit of a strange introduction on Top Gear, the host said Amber was bisexual and that no one had heard of her. Luckily, Amber takes it all in stride, and discusses how she can be out and come from Texas.

Denmark’s X-Factor has a 15-year-old out lesbian contestant named Sarah, and she seriously rocks. Check out her recent performance of The Beatles’ “Come Together.”

Gotta love that stage presence. Work that tie! (Thank you Kat!) Follow her journey at her Facebook fan page.

The Daily Telegraph has a cool essay from Lucy Fry who writes about becoming a lesbian later in life. It all started with a drunk kiss, as so many do.

The same paper also wrote a profile of Beth Ditto which calls her the “punk It girl.” It’s all about her EP, her background, her fashion friends and if she is still punk and gay enough for fans.

Big news: Kate Bosworth and Zoe Saldana were in the same room and they did this.

Carry on.

After making it all the way to the finale, lesbian contestant Georgann lost on Worst Cooks in America, which, from the sound of it, could be a good thing. Her wife was even a judge! I’m sure she wasn’t the deciding vote. Then again, she did nominate Georg for the show.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson may or may not be back together. I have a feeling they won’t be telling us either way any time soon.
