Morning Brew: Monday, Dec. 21

Morning, Mondayers.

First, let’s bid adieu, sadly, to Brittany Murphy, who died yesterday morning of cardiac arrest. We’ll have a tribute blog post up to the actress shortly. R.I.P. Brittany. I’ll never forget the first time I saw you on The Torkelsons.

In other news that made me cringe, Tila Tequila is reportedly pregs. She Tweeted yesterday:

She’s so giving with her body.

In 2010, you can have your very own Chica Busca Chica calendar. Buying one goes toward the filming of the second season. Win/win!

Survivor‘s lesbian contestant Shambo was voted off last week. In an exit interview, she discussed her trademark ‘do: “I will be driving down the road and people will roll down their windows — even if it is raining — and wave at me frantically, ‘love the mullet,’ or ‘your hair rocks.’ I might have gotten a lot of negative attention last night, but I challenge any woman with shoulder length, curly hair to have no hair care products and no fresh water to clean their hair for 36 days and to have it look better than mine did on national television last night.” Sorry, Shambo, I don’t think that’ll be that hard to win.

As one of the most lesbian straight women ever, Piper Perabo will host the True Colors Cabaret event in NYC on Jan. 11. Slated to perform are Rufus Wainwright and Tony Award-winner Karen Olivo. What, no Coyote Ugly medley?

IndieWire.com is hosting a “Decade” series of interviews this week, featuring talks with directors of the 2000s best indie films. Check out this cool Q&A with bisexual artist/director/writer Miranda July talking about Me, You & Everyone We Know.

And in incredibly awesome tour news, Tegan and Sara are bringing Holly Miranda on the road with them. I feel good about this.

See you Tuesday!
