A UK show called This Morning featured the story of a woman who said “a lesbian affair saved her marriage.”
Melissa Joan Hart writes about her scandalous partying ways of the past in her new memoir, including a lesbian tryst in a limo on her way home from doing ecstasy at the Playboy mansion. (I feel like Jenny McCarthy’s experience was the same.) If you want to know more about MJH’s wild ’90s, Melissa Explains it All comes out in October.
Out lesbian rower Sarah Outen became the first woman to row solo from Japan to Alaska. She just finished this week in 150 days and 3,750 miles. She said of the epic trip:
“I have had some of the most intense and memorable months of my life out on the Pacific. It has been brilliant and brutal at the same time. And it has been a privilege.”
That’s a long time to be at sea!
When director Brune Baretto was first approached about his new film Reaching for the Moon, he turned it down because:
“It seemed too confined — a gay love story. Too much of a niche story. My producer brought it to me, and I wasn’t interested at all in reading it. Maybe it wasn’t pitched well to me.”
Eventually he decided it had enough “edge,” he says, as it’s about famous poet Elizabeth Bishop. I can’t wait to see this film when it is at the Portland Lesbian and Gay Film Festival next month.
I enjoyed this interview W magazine did with Lea Seydoux. She talks about the unconventional ways of Blue is the Warmest Color director Abdellatif Kechiche. She also has a hilarious way of saying “pussy.”
Hell, have you frozen over? George H.W. Bush attended a lesbian wedding in Maine last weekend. Not only that, but his friends, Bonnie Clement and Helen Thorgalsen, asked him to sign the marriage license as an official witness.
Concussion star Robin Weigart has joined the cast of Chicago PD, the Chicago Fire spin-off.
Mistresses has been renewed for a second season. But will you keep watching now that Joss is likely no longer dating women?
A new app called Wing Ma’am wants to be on your phone. It’s all about meeting women, as dates or as friends.
