Morning Brew – Maria Bello is writing a coming out memoir

Good morning! Did you spend all weekend watching Orange is the New Black?

While we’re talking OITNB, here’s a story on the real jail. Also Lori Petty talks with The Daily Beast about her role and career. Here she is talking about working with episode 1 director Jodie Foster:

We’re around the same age and I’ve known her in L.A. We have a mutual friend—Stockard Channing—and we used to go to her house all the time for dinner parties, and Jodie is super cool and sweet, but very quiet. That’s just her personality. But on the set, she’s jumping around, helping everyone, and just glowing. She doesn’t scream from her chair, she comes over to you and whispers in your ear, “What if you really were a crackhead?” It’s so inspiring to see someone so happy and engaged, and someone where you really know, “This is what you’re supposed to be doing.” She’d say, “I look at my monitor and I see you, Lori, and it makes me so happy!” She would leave every day of shooting during the polar vortex just grinning from ear-to-ear.

This just in: Hillary Clinton doesn’t respond to claims she’s a lesbian because SHE DOESN’T FUCKING HAVE TO.

Out tennis legend Amelie Mauresmo has a new gig coaching pro Andy Murray. Andy said of choosing Amelie:

“I’m excited by the possibilities of the new partnership and Amelie is someone I have always looked up to and admired. She’s faced adversity plenty of times in her career, but was an amazing player and won major titles, including Wimbledon. I have a very strong coaching team already in place, but I think Amelie brings with her experience and tactical expertise and will push us all to improve. Everyone I know talks very highly of Amelie, as a person and coach, and I’m convinced that her joining the team will help us push on – I want to win more Grand Slams. I’ve always had a strong female influence in my career. With my mum especially she listened extremely well and that’s something I needed right now.”
