Morning Brew – Laura Prepon was psyched to work with Jodie Foster

Good morning!

Uzo Aduba spoke with The Daily Beast and BuzzFeed about the evolution of Crazy Eyes. Over at TVGuide, Danielle Brooks talks Taystee.

Jodie Foster shared why she wanted to direct episodes of Orange is the New Black with The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s a whole new world, but it’s right up my alley. Story is back and that’s what I do. I love serving directors in film, and in television, that’s the show creator. You’re there to be their champion. As the director, you don’t cast a show, you don’t have the sets built per your specs, you don’t do revisions. You’re not the sheriff! But Orange is so my tone. It’s a comedy and drama put together. You care about what happens to people and they’re as real as a heartbeat and yet there’s all this whimsy.

And if you’re in NYC and not finding the OITNB food truck, then we are no longer friends.

Another NYC event to look into: Uncivil Union: A benefit concert for The Ally Coalition, New Alternatives, and Broadway Impact, featuring the women of Broad City and Cameron Esposito, among other fierce ass allies and family.

Back to Jodie for a hot sec: Laura Prepon went on Big Buzz Live yesterday and raved about working with the out actress/director.

Jamie Babbit did a Q&A after a screening of But I’m a Cheerleader in Tel Aviv recently, and she said she’s working with Natasha Lyonne again on her next film.

Speaking of Tel Aviv, Lizzy the Lezzy discusses living in Israel and how the person behind the Lezzy used the character to find a girlfriend.

Brittney Griner spoke with BET about being out and proud. (Hell yeah BG!)

Slate is happy the WNBA is acknowledging its lesbian fanbase.

Michelle Rodriguez is answering questions from fans. You can use #AskMRod on Facebook or Twitter and she might respond via YouTube.

Her ex, meanwhile, is curating a new collection for DKNY. Cara Delevingne‘s line will be “mostly unisex and includes beanies, T-shirts and a leather motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves.”

Out Pinoy Big Brother housemate Divine Maitland-Smith posed for FHM because:

“I wanted to show the Philippines a different side to lesbians. You don’t have to be a dyke! You can have boobs and show them! Be proud of who you are! I was so sick of people looking at me like they could fit me into a stereotype or a certain genre. I wanted to make a point that you could be who you are and that’s okay.”

EW has a new clip from the very queer horror film All Cheerleaders Die. (Read our review here.)

A new public television series called Wealthtrack hopes to “empower women to overcome their financial fears and challenges and reach their financial goals.” This is great, especially, because among some of topics they cover include “being in a committed lesbian relationship.” Two women can be very expensive.

Stephen Colbert is nervous about black lesbian robots.

Lily Tomlin talked about coming out with PrideSource.

I just talked to somebody not even two or three days ago and they were saying, “Don’t you think celebrities should come out? All of them!” I said, “No, because I don’t know what their circumstances are.” They can’t be responsible to everybody. As far as making a big declaration about your own sexuality, I’m not gonna be the one to judge what other people do unless they’re doing something really horrible and destructive and ugly. They can still support the gay issues and gay causes and women’s issues and so on, and they can support positive constructive things in the society, but I’m not gonna stand in judgment of another individual.

Over at Outsports: “I am Charline Labonte, Olympic hockey player and proudly gay.”

Linda Perry went on HuffPost Live this week and discussed re-tooling Pink‘s career.

Kate McKinnon shows up on tonight’s Comedy Bang! Bang!.
