Hello! I hope all our readers in Japan are safe and sound after today’s events.
Remember those Britney Spears lesbian rumors from a few years ago? Well they just can’t be true, because the pop star tells Out she “only has eyes for men.” In the same Q&A, she has only this to say on how it was to kiss Madonna: “Cool.” A woman of few words.
The latest lesbian rumors are surrounding the single Sandra Bullock. The very credible National Enquirer reports that Sandy fears her ex-husband Jesse James will include proof she is actually gay in a tell-all book. The rag writes:
Bullock fears he’ll boost his publishing payday by stitching together a pack of lies about their five-year marriage, sources say. But her biggest worry is that Jesse may have a secret sex tape of their lovemaking, according to insiders. According to Jesse, Sandra was not only uninterested in sex during their marriage, she preferred sleeping with their dogs, said the source.
She preferred sleeping with her dogs to her cheating husband? Wow, she must be a lesbian. Not that we wouldn’t love to have her, I’m just skeptical.
Kate Moennig is in the new film, The Lincoln Lawyer, and walked the red carpet at the LA premiere last night.
Glee‘s latest episode is making waves in the UK already, and it hasn’t even aired there yet. The problem? The Joan Jett song featured in “Sexy,” “Do You Wanna Touch Me?” was written by convicted child molester Gary Glitter (nee Paul Francis Gadd) and he will receive royalties from the song’s use. PinkNews.co.uk reports that the UK powers that be are considering pulling that scene when the episode airs. (Thanks for the tip scorpio54!)
Morgan Fairchild was part of lesbian TV history when she was one-half of Roseanne‘s gay lady couple. (Her partner was played by Sandra Bernhard, wearing some amazing outfits.) A few decades later, the actress will be playing gay again in a new film called A Perfect Ending, from out director Nicole Conn. She told PrideSource:
I’ll just say it’s an interesting story about a woman who comes to terms with her life and has an affair with another woman who isn’t gay — ostensibly they’re both straight but end up having an affair that becomes very meaningful and changes both of their lives. So to me, that’s gay themed, but I don’t know if the director actually thinks it is. [laughs]
I’m pretty sure Nicole Conn would say yes, yes it is. The film also stars Jessica Clark and Barbara Niven.
Zooey Deschanel talked with The Advocate about her status as a woman other women would go gay for, and loving her lesbian fans. She also said that she doesn’t have any sex scenes with Rashida Jones in My Idiot Brother, but they do do some kissing and that her character ends up cheating on Rashida with other “guys and girls.” In real life, though, it’s always been boys, and boys only, for Zooey she tells the mag.
Out actress Felicia “Snoop” Pearson (The WIre) has been arrested as part of a drug sting in Baltimore. A little too “life mimicking art” here. Sad.
Cowgirl Up has a new episode on TelloFilms.com, and we’ve got a little preview to entice you.
Today in Lesbianish TV: The Ellen DeGeneres Show (check local listings), The Talk (CBS 2 p.m.), Sex and the City (E! 2 p.m.), The Rachel Maddow Show (MSNBC 9 p.m.) and Degrassi (TeenNick 9 p.m.) (Thanks Roni!)
