JD Samson talked with Spin about MEN‘s recent decision to release EPs all on their own. She told the mag:
The industry just feels like it’s in this place where anything can happen. We just thought, well here’s an idea. Let’s put out these EPs as we do them and see what happens. It’s kind of an experiment. We’re no stranger to being DIY, so I think it’s been easy for us to make that transition.
Their latest EP, Next, was released last month. Highly recommended for those who enjoy dancing, political pop and anything JD has ever touched. Speaking of things JD touches, she also told Spin that Le Tigre is still on hiatus, but never say never.
Gayle King was asked yet again about lesbian rumors with her BFF Oprah. She told Vanity Fair:
Well, it used to be upsetting to me when it first happened years ago. But now, to me, it’s so stupid. It doesn’t bother me in the least. The thing that troubles me more than anything is that, if we were, why would we keep it a secret? Hiding it would not be her philosophy or my philosophy. That’s why it’s just so stupid to me.
That’s why I believe them. I feel strongly they’d be out and proud if they were gay together. How rad would that be?
Salon Radio had Rachel Maddow on their show this week and you can listen to it right here. One thing that always strikes me about Rachel: she’s so humble! Seriously. She’s always like “Thanks so much for taking interest in my book.” People are like “Obviously — do you know who you are?”
