Jane Lynch said that she loves seeing herself come to life in Wreck-It Ralph.
I mean, here was this idealized version of me up there on screen. The way that I imagine that I go through life with clear skin and beautiful hair. So I lean over to my wife during this screening and say “Don’t I look great?” And she turns to me and says “Honey, it’s animation.”
She does look great! I’m kind of attracted to her animated character, who is clearly a lesbian. On Chelsea Lately, she discussed her action figure version from the film and how impressed her daughter is.
Jane was dressed in character on The Ellen Show, where she played some improv games with audience members.
Then Ellen brought out some behind-the-scenes video from her Mark Twain Prize ceremony.
Lea Delaria says she is representing for the butch lesbians because someone has to!
I have been completely out for 30 years. Everything I’ve done, every step I’ve taken, has been to further a positive perception of queers within the world. There was a time in the early 1990s where they wanted me to wear lipstick. That was the time when the lipstick lesbian thing was all the rage. I did it for about six months, and then I went, “I can’t do this anymore. This is not who I am.” It’s not who millions and millions of dyke butches are out there, and someone has to present that image. Someone has to be that person for those little butches out there to see. That one is going to be me every time.

I am a fan of any and all butch representation. Thank you Lea.
Oh look — another study that says lesbian moms are the bomb. I’m so shocked. Not really. All the mombians I know make me feel like I should never have children because I’d be inferior to their magical mommying ways.
Speaking of lesbian moms, Disney has picked up Lisa Cholodenko‘s film adaptation of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. It’s going to be a little different from High Art, I imagine.

The wonderful Kate Nash performed the Buffy musical Once More With Feeling at the Hackney Picture House this week. She’s so cool.
