Morning Brew – Fri. May 10: Jane Lynch plays charades, Fortune Feimster kisses Chelsea Handler

Good morning!

Are you doing OK after last night’s Grey’s Anatomy? If you want any spoilers as to the future of Calzona’s relationship, TV Guide has you covered with this Jessica Capshaw interview.

I don’t know what’s happening in this photo from Arrested Development, but I am laughing already. Four more days!

Speaking of, Portia de Rossi looked fierce at a press conference in L.A. last week.

Jane Lynch takes her charades seriously.

Nancy Pelosi and Edie Windsor will speak to the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth at the group’s 20th anniversary gala tonight. Sounds like fun!

Unfortunately there are no photos that go along with this story: “Meet the gay dad with 22 kids by 17 lesbians.” Don’t you want to visualize this? I feel like results would be mindblowing.

Out writer Linda Villarosa interviewed Chirlane McCray, a once-identified lesbian who is now married to male politician Bill de Blasio, for Essence. Chirlane was very open about her sexuality, her thoughts on how it changed when she met her husband and if she considers herself bisexual. An excerpt:

I am more than just a label. Why are people so driven to labeling where we fall on the sexual spectrum? Labels put people in boxes, and those boxes are shaped like coffins. Finding the right person can be so hard that often, when a person finally finds someone she or he is comfortable with, she or he just makes it work. As my friend Vanessa says, “It’s not whom you love; it’s that you love.”

Good on ya for publishing this piece, Essence.

It seems that censors of gay and lesbian content in Bollywood films are lightening up a little bit. The films with lesbian kisses might still get “Adults Only” ratings, but at least they aren’t being asked to cut them out.

Out writer Ariel Gore is returning to edit the zine she once started called Hip Mama for its 20th anniversary. Help get it funded if you’re a fan or have become a hip mom yourself in the last 20 years.

If you’re in NYC on June 29, there’s a pretty rad way to test out your fitness in the name of equality. Out-Fit Challenge will host a 5K Mud Run featuring “15+ military style obstacles that could include mud, water, or even ice.” If that sounds like your kind of fun, visit out-fitchallenge.com to sign up. Proceeds benefit the Ali Forney Center.

If you’re more into card games, perhaps you’d be interested in supporting these LGBT playing cards. I love them, but I’m terrible at Euchre.

Yesterday Fortune Feimster shared this photo and I think it’s how she got her job on Chelsea Lately.
