Morning Brew: Batwoman has a bright future, Jillian Michaels walks back her hard-ass philosophy

Good morning, Brewbies!

Good news: Comic Book Resources ran an interview with Batwoman writer/artist J.H. Williams yesterday, in which he said that our favorite lesbian superhero has a long future ahead of her, one that will include her girlfriend, Detective Maggie Sawyer:

Haden and I are super excited over this new direction for Kate and Maggie. We love that Kate did the proposal and revealed herself to be Batwoman all at once. It’s like she is saying to Maggie, “You want to know what I’ve been doing, who I am, this is who I am, will you still love me?” We’re planning this to be a prolonged story. The couple has a lot of issues to work out between them, and they both have baggage from other relationships that they bring to the table. It’s not going to be easy. This is the more natural progression to take considering the lives they lead, how that will affect them on a daily basis will be profound.

So, I guess Maggie is going to say yes to that proposal! Hopefully, there will also be more of this:

In other awesome gay lady comic book news, Terry Moore is now accepting pre-orders for the Strangers in Paradise softcover omnibus! I have been jonesing for a re-re-re-re-read of my all-time favorite-ever graphic novel series after Terry started posting Francine/Katchoo sketches from his weekend at Emerald City Comic-Con. You can get all the details at his website.

Jillian Michaels is having a hard time reconciling her hardass Biggest Loser mentality to being a parent. She recently told Fitness magazine:

“I used to say, ‘If you’re going to exercise, then you do it, and you do it 100 percent.’ Now if I’ve got to answer e-mails while I work out on the StairMaster, well, then that’s what it is,” Jillian says. “People can rub my nose in it, because it is so hard – so hard – to take care of yourself when you’re a parent.”

Apparently she’s finding time to make it happen. She’s as shredded as ever on the cover of the magazine.

Apparently Australian network TEN edited down the Quinntana and Klaine sexytimes scenes from Glee‘s “I Do” episode. A spokesperson for the network said:

Last night’s episode of Glee was aired in a PG timeslot. Edits were made due to a self-harm reference and overtly sexual references. These were not related to the same sex nature of the content, but due to the level of the sexual reference

That’s funny, since the Finchel sexytime scenes remained completely intact.

The pro-gay conservative organization GOProud didn’t get an invite to CPAC this year, perhaps due to the fact that the super homophobic National Organization for Marriage declined to be in the same room with them in 2010. So the Daily Intelligencer stopped by to ask if NOM felt weird about the fact that CPAC is being held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland. Apparently, they do not.
