Morning Brew – Katy Perry on the girl she really liked to kiss

Happy Wednesday!

Next Tuesday’s episode of Supernatural sees the return of Felicia Day as lesbian character Charlie. The description of “Slumber Party”:

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) discover that the table in the Men of Letters house (the one that lit up like a Christmas Tree when the angels fell), has an ancient computer attached to it. They figure if they can get the computer on, they can track the angels. Who better to call for help than the best IT girl there is, Charlie (guest star Felicia Day)?

Masters of Sex has been renewed for a second season. Bring back Betty!

Naya Rivera talked with Access Hollywood about the end of Glee.

I think we’ve had a really good run on the show. I think that all good things must come to an end, so whenever that comes to an end, I’ll just be grateful that I was even on it.
Us too!

Out rapper Angel Haze did a great freestyle over the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song “Same Love.”

Two girls won Homecoming King and Queen in Eagle Pass, Texas, but they’re not a couple. Only one of the girls, Eileen Hernandez, is a lesbian. Jennifer Mijares is straight, but Eileen’s good friend.

And this happened in TEXAS! Progress is happening people!

Katy Perry is changing her tune a bit about the inspiration for her hit “I Kissed a Girl,” which she originally said was a piece of fiction for fun. She tells W magazine:

It was a bit radical to sing about bisexuality, but it was a topic that was on the tip of everybody’s tongue. And even though it was “I kissed a girl, and I liked it, and that’s what I like to do sometimes,” I sang it with a wink. It may be a fun little pop song, but sometimes fun little pop songs most clearly express the zeitgeist.
And on the girl she liked to kiss:
[S]he was that friend, the one that you idolize and maybe even have a weird obsession-slash-crush on. We were standing on her bed, wearing her clothes – because her clothes were cooler – and she put on “Killer Queen.” My world froze. It was a very cinematic feeling, and it opened up this lyrical world.”
Strangely this is the same week her ex Russell Brand opened up about having a sexual encounter with a dude. Again, PROGRESS.

Top L.A. divorce lawyer Laura Wasser has a new book out called It Doesn’t Have to Be That Way: How to Divorce Without Destroying Your Family or Bankrupting Yourself.
