Morning Brew – BOO! Beca and Chloe will not hook up in “Pitch Perfect 2”

Good morning! Did you stay up all night watching Orange is the New Black? Every single episode is on Netflix RIGHT NOW.

Elizabeth Banks is destroying your dreams for Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick to get together in Pitch Perfect 2, of which she’s a producer. She told The Advocate:

Hmm. What can I say about the sequel? Well, there’s a huge outpouring of support for Beca and Chloe – Anna Kendrick’s and Brittany Snow’s characters – to get together, but I can tell you right now that they will not be lesbians in the sequel.

In the same interview, the actress said she has kissed many a girl, and she’d cast “Angelina Jolie, Christina Hendricks or Emma Stone” to play her on-screen lover if she were going to play gay.

This week, Michelle Bonilla and Joanna Johnson were on The Bold and the Beautiful. Two lesbians in one week!

Olympia Dukakis talked about receiving the script for Cloudburst, where she plays a tough lesbian named Stella:

I sent (the script) to lesbians and they were very moved by it. I wanted to make sure that there was nothing that they found offensive. I didn’t, but I wanted to make sure that they didn’t. They were very moved by it and so eager for me to do it. And they were so happy that it was being done, because these two women are in their 70s, and of course their lives as two lesbians is very different from the lives of two lesbian partners who are 20 and 30 today. Their families rejected them, they had to hide, they had to pretend, and they had to do a lot of different things.
She also said she thinks it sucks that Lifetime bought the movie but only plays it at 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. and bleeps all the good stuff. Track it down on DVD!

Architects Journal did a study asking LGBT architects to answer how comfortable they felt being out in the industry. The findings were interesting: 74 percent feel safe being out in their practice, but only 16 percent feel OK about being out at construction sites.
