Your Weekly Women to Listen to: Warpaint, Neon Hitch, The Ettes and more
Since I got to see some really great female acts at Lollaplooza last weekend, I’ve decided to give you the lowdown on some of the performers. I’m going to skip talking about Lady Gaga, though, because she is an enigma who has already taken over the hearts and minds of most of the world.
File Under: Hip-Hop, neo-soul, righteous babe, amazing entertainer, poet

From: Nigeria
For fans of: Erykah Badu, Andre 3000, swaying
Bonus: I saw her play a tiny show at Lolla before heading to one of the main stages. It was just Nneka, her guitar and a few people trying to win a Toyota. She was fantastic, her voice strong and beautiful.
That wraps up another week of Women to Listen to. Stay tuned for more next week and let me know what you think of these ladies.
Bonus: The amazingly beautiful Shannyn Sossamon was one of the original founders (along with her sister, Jenny Lee Lindberg, who is still in the band). They are so fly.
