Delaware Becomes the 11th State to Legalize Same-Sex Marriage
Yesterday evening, Delaware became the 11th state to legalize same-sex marriage when Governor Markell signed a marriage equality bill into law almost immediately after it passed the Senate with a 12-9 vote. Delaware, of course, follows Rhode Island, which achieved marriage equality just last week. It also follows Uruguay, New Zealand and France, all of which made same-sex marriage legal at the national level only a month ago. It feels awesome to read that, right? Well, feel even awesome-er by watching Markell sign Deleware’s marriage equality bill in front of 200 gay rights activists.

Gay citizens of Delaware already enjoy civil unions, but they will officially be able to marry beginning July 1st. You go, Small Wonder state!
